It is the city and region of Saleh in Saudi Arabia. Hebrew SALA or SELA is SALAH or Saleh in Arabic. Vowels are added to letters in Hebrew and Arabic to change the sound of letter. I've heard that Quran 2:79 is not really referring to the Jews, but the "ummi", the gentiles who write books, because the verse right before 2:78 is talking about people who don't know the book, writing the book.

Also the others say that the Quranic mensions of "distort the scripture" is "by their tongue". So they are not describing the written text being distorted, but the way they speak, they distort it.

If someone can show me that the context of this verse is referring to the Jews corrupting the scripture, that would be very helpful! :)

Paul's Delusions: In 1 Corinthians 7:40, he claimed that he "thinks" that he has the Holy Spirit in him! He also contradicted Jesus in other passages. Paul never met Jesus in person.

The New Testament calls for the death of all Jews who reject Jesus as Christ. Jesus also abrogated "love" in Matthew 5 with "hate" in Matthew 7,15.
