Assalamu Alaykum, Dear Brothers!

My name is Ayyub, I am from Chechnya.
First of all I would like to thank You for running this website for it is of paramount importance for all of us!
I frequently visit it and cannot help admiring how clearly and confidently you defend the Noble Quran and Sunnah!
My major interest is the issue concerning Scientific Miracles in Quran.
Unfortunately I do not know the Arabic language which is crucial for understanding the Noble Quran. While reading Quran I got interested in the Verse 17:13 wherein it reads:

"Wakulla insanin alzamnahu ta-irahu fee AAunuqihi wanukhriju lahu yawma alqiyamati kitaban yalqahu manshooran" (17:13)

In the English translation (by Muhammad Muhsin Khan) it reads as follows:

"And We have fastened every man's deeds to his neck, and on the Day of Resurrection, We shall bring out for him a book which he will find wide open." (17:13)

However, the English translation fails to mention the "tairahu" - the bird!

It came to my mind that the "bird" attached to human neck could be the thyroid gland since it looks like bird or rather butterfly. I know little about this gland except it plays an important role in metabolism and hormones of human body. Maybe, apart from metabolism, it deals with (or affects) information about human deeds, emotions, intentions etc. Anyway, my vision is purely hypothetical. An Allah knows best!

Assalamu alaykum!

Your brother Ayyub
