All creatures that ever existed on earth will resurrect in the Day of Judgment and will be brought before Allah Almighty:

[006:038] There is not an animal (that lives) on the earth, nor a being that flies on its wings, but (forms part of) communities like you امم امثالكم. Nothing have we omitted from the Book, and they (all) shall be gathered to their Lord in the end ثم الى ربهم يحشرون.

‏6:38 ومامن دابة في الارض ولاطائر يطير بجناحيه الا امم امثالكم مافرطنا في الكتاب من شئ ثم الى ربهم يحشرون

But what will happen to them is not known.  The following are the possibilities:

1-  Some say that animals will turn into dust.  There are Hadiths from Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, that say this:

[078:040] Verily, We have warned you of a Penalty near, the Day when man will see (the deeds) which his hands have sent forth, and the Unbeliever will say, "Woe unto me! Would that I were (metre) dust! ياليتني كنت ترابا"

2-  However, it's been proven that monkeys are very close to humans, and they do have a lot of mathematical and memory intelligence [1] [2 youtube].  So could monkeys have a Spirit from Allah Almighty as humans do, as shown in the Noble Verses below?  After all, Allah Almighty said in Noble Verse 6:38, above, that all animals are communities like us, humans.  Allah Almighty Alone Knows best.

Animal-SELF and Human-SELF:

Animals have animal-selves, but do not have spirits.  Our selves are human selves, and our spirit is from Allah Almighty.  Allah Almighty blows His Spirit into our mothers' wombs to bring us to life:

"But He fashioned him in due proportion, and breathed into him something of His Spirit.  And He gave you (the faculties of) hearing and sight and feeling (and understanding): little thanks do ye give!   (The Noble Quran, 32:9)"

"When I have fashioned him (in due proportion) and breathed into him of My Spirit, fall ye down in obeisance unto him.  (The Noble Quran, 38:72)"

"When I have fashioned him (in due proportion) and breathed into him of My Spirit, fall ye down in obeisance unto him.  (The Noble Quran, 15:29)"

"And (remember) her who guarded her chastity: We breathed into her of Our Spirit, and We made her and her son a sign for all peoples.  (The Noble Quran, 21:91)"

"And Mary the daughter of 'Imran, who guarded her chastity; and We breathed into (her body) of Our Spirit; and she testified to the truth of the words of her Lord and of His Revelations, and was one of the devout (servants).  (The Noble Quran, 66:12)"


Animals are instinctive creatures.  They do only as they are programmed to do.  Their intelligence is very limited, and they have no spirits.  They have no will.  There is strong evidence that they will end up in Heaven.  And Allah Almighty Alone Knows best.  Allah Almighty Said about the Creatures that have no Will and also about those that do have will:

[024:041]  Seest thou not that it is God Whose praises all beings in the heavens and on earth do celebrate, and the birds (of the air) with wings outspread? Each one knows its own (mode of) prayer and praise. And God knows well all that they do.

[059:024] He is God, the Creator, the Evolver, the Bestower of Forms (or Colours). To Him belong the Most Beautiful Names: whatever is in the heavens and on earth, doth declare His Praises and Glory: and He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

[062:001]  Whatever is in the heavens and on earth, doth declare the Praises and Glory of God,- the Sovereign, the Holy One, the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

[064:001]  Whatever is in the heavens and on earth, doth declare the Praises and Glory of God: to Him belongs dominion, and to Him belongs praise: and He has power over all things.




Man's Will:

To further support my points above, Allah Almighty Said:

[033:072]  Verily, we proposed to the Heavens, and to the Earth, and to the Mountains to receive the Faith, but they refused the burden, and they feared to receive it. Man undertook to bear it, but hath proved unjust, senseless! 

  

  
The human-nafs (self):

Allah Almighty Said the following about the NAFS (SELF):

‏89:27 ياايتها النفس المطمئنة 
[089:027]  "O (thou) soul SELF, in (complete) rest and satisfaction!

‏89:28 ارجعي الى ربك راضية مرضية 
[089:028]  "Come back thou to thy Lord,- well pleased (thyself), and well-pleasing unto Him!

‏89:29 فادخلي في عبادي 
[089:029]  "Enter thou, then, among My devotees!

‏89:30 وادخلي جنتي
[089:030]  "Yea, enter thou My Heaven! 

Notice how Allah Almighty Commands the SELF to enter HIS DEVOTEES.  It is referring to us, humans.  The Noble Verses are speaking about the satisfied NAFS (SELF) returning to Allah Almighty after death, and then entering into the good believers in the Hereafter.  For more details, please visit:
