Where did RK get "19"?

PICKTHAL: We have appointed only angels to be wardens of the Fire, and their number have We made to be a stumbling-block for those who disbelieve; that those to whom the Scripture hath been given may have certainty, and that believers may increase in faith; and that those to whom the Scripture hath been given and believers may not doubt; and that those in whose hearts there is disease, and disbelievers, may say: What meaneth Allah by this similitude? Thus Allah sendeth astray whom He will, and whom He will He guideth. None knoweth the hosts of thy Lord save Him. This is naught else than a Reminder unto mortals.

SHAKIR: And We have not made the wardens of the fire others than angels, and We have not made their number but as a trial for those who disbelieve, that those who have been given the book may be certain and those who believe may increase in faith, and those who have been given the book and the believers may not doubt, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the unbelievers may say: What does Allah mean by this parable? Thus does Allah make err whom He pleases, and He guides whom He pleases, and none knows the hosts of your Lord but He Himself; and this is naught but a reminder to the mortals.

"19" is THE NUMBER OF ANGELS APPOINTED TO GUARD HELL!

Even RK admits this in HIS translation of verses 74:30-31:

[74:30] Over it is nineteen.
[74:31] We appointed angels to be guardians of Hell, and we assigned their number (19) . . .

THAT'S IT!

[N]owhere, in fully detailed Quran , I repeat NOWHERE God mentioned that some mathemathico-numerical code, or sign called 19 that will increase faith. . . .

Believers in the code beat the verse to the death and extricate from it that - it is not "19 of malaikah" that are fitna/punishment for those who disbelieved(in hereafter)- but No 19 as an abstract and symbol of code 19 - is fitna/punishment/trial for disbelievers (in this world).  They say "their number" is not "19 of malaikah" but "their number" is simply -"19" . . .

They laugh at me and ridicule when I say that their number is not 19, but 19 of them - 19 malaikah...

They wonder:" but why 19 malaikah"? "Why do you think God chooses the "number" of the angles over saqar to be 19...?" 

I will answer with another question : Why EIGHT malaikah will carry arsh (throne) of Allah at j[udgment] day as mentioned in Quran?? Why do you think God chooses 8 angels to carry His throne at J[udgment] day??

[Quran] 69/17 "And the angels will be on its sides, and EIGHT will bear, that Day, above them, the Throne of thy Lord." 

I really do not know Gods secrets and why 19 angels suits the best to be guardian and performer of torments in hell... as well as I have no idea why 8 angels suits the best to carry the Throne at J-day...

Some new code? Code 8? 

Why there are exactly 11 players in soccer? Why not 12 ? Why not 10?

God knows why exactly 19 angels are needed in hell . . . And it is not of a big importance to us...Our major concern should be to avoid the punishment which they perform . . .

The phrase "None knows the soldiers of your Lord except He" seems to me as a good explanation for this. No one knows why exactly 19 malaikah are upon hell fire. . . only God know his soldiers- their characteristics, their capabilities, and He knows why he chose exactly 19 malaikah, but we know that their purpose is to punish and torture disbelievers in hell (Quran 66/6)

Probably the traits of malaikahs are such that it requires to be 19 of them in order to perfectly and effectively perform all the commands of punishing and torturing of disbelievers in hell. 

If God made/set/appointed some other number, people would again ask: why this number? Why not some other number? Why exactly this number? Why not this and that?. . . I leave them to God . . .

(some said that 19 symbolizes a large, indefinite number, this also makes sense - a lot of malaikah for torturing of disbelievers in hell)

On the other side God surely knew that one day will come some people who will want to extricate some unquranic doctrines using parts of some verses so He gave them a chance . . . (Quran 3/7)

This is an additional clarification of the expression "their number" mentioned in [Qurna] 74/31 Suppose that someone asks me: "how many lawyers [do] we need to win this lawsuit?"

And suppose that I answer:

Such **number** which will be able to perform all the numerous tasks, BUT which, in the same time, would be able to fully COOPERATE on performing their duties WITHOUT DISRUPTING each other . . . 

When I answer that this or that number is enough/needed to do the job, it is clear to every healthy person that actually THEY will do the job and not their number as an abstract 5, 6, 7, 8 etc. . . .

This is a perfect explanation of "their number" in [Quran] 74/31. . . 

Look again what God says in [Quran] 9/36:

"indeed the *number of months* in the sight of Allah is *12 months*..."

Is Allah stupid??

Allah said "the *number of months*...is *12 months*"

Why did not Allah said "the number of months is 12"?? but He said "the *number of months*...is *12 months*". . . .

(So - their number is not 19, but 19 of them - 19 malaikah...)

Of course it is the same whether you say "the number of months is 12" or "12 months" - it is just human language and everybody know what is meant..

The same case is with "their number" in [Quran] 74/31 When Allah said: "we did not made/set their number but a fitna/punishment for those who disbelieve(d)in order that..."  It simply means that 19 of malaikah are punishment for disbelievers(in hell)and this quranic admonition will result in effects listed after that-increasing in faith, removing doubts etc.

So Rashad Khalifa did nothing short of creating a theology based on THE NUMBER OF ANGELS WHO GUARD HELL.

This would be like a Christian sect claiming that the Bible's "secret number" was "666" - the number of "the Beast" in Revelation 13:18!
