A clear refutation to the Shia's twisting of Noble Verse 33:33 and their worship of Ahlul-Bayt:

In this article, I will soundly refute the most misinterpreted and misused Noble Verse in the Noble Quran that the Shias use to justify their glorification and praising to the point of worship to Ali, Fatimah and Al-Hussein.  They say prayers such as "Ya Ali madad", which literally translates as "O Ali help me", contradicting and violating Allah Almighty's Divine Command in the Noble Quran when He said:

"When My servants ask thee concerning Me, I am indeed close (to them): I listen to the prayer of every suppliant when he calleth on Me: Let them also, with a will, Listen to My call, and believe in Me: That they may walk in the right way.   (The Noble Quran, 2:186)"

In fact, one scholar of them on paltalk said to me personally that "Ali is Allah Almighty's Mercy!"  Now having said all of this, let me now quote Noble Verses 33:30-34, in Arabic and then in English, to see how the Shias misuse Noble Verse 33:33 to serve their twisted and evil purpose:

Arabic:

‏33:31 ومن يقنت منكن لله ورسوله وتعمل صالحا نؤتها اجرها مرتين واعتدنا لها رزقا كريما

‏33:33 وقرن في بيوتكن ولاتبرجن تبرج الجاهلية الاولى واقمن الصلاة واتين الزكاة واطعن الله ورسوله انما يريد الله ليذهب عنكم الرجس اهل البيت ويطهركم تطهيرا

English:

Now to the ordinary reader, there seems to be no problem in the Noble Verses above.  But unfortunately, the Shias consider Noble Verse 33:33 to be the greatest Noble Verse to them, because they misuse it and misinterpret it to support their blasphemies and idol-worship of Ali and the rest of Ahlul-Bayt.  It is claimed or believed that Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, declared that him, Ali, Fatima (his daughter), Hasan and Hussein were the ones who got purified by Allah Almighty and that the "People of the House of the Prophet" (Ahlul-Bayt) are only limited to those individuals, and therefore, after Prophet Muhammad died, Ali should've been the very next Islamic Caliph.  The Shias exclude all of Prophet Muhammad's wives from Noble Verse 33:33.

To me, Noble verses 33:30-34 clearly include Prophet Muhammad's wives.  They are speaking about Prophet Muhammad's wives, the Prophet himself, his daughter Fatimah and her family (Ali, Hasan and Hussein).  If we look at the first word in Noble Verse 33:34, which comes after 33:33, we would see "Wa uthkurun", which is a feminine plural to "uthkur".  In Arabic male plurals can be for either males only or a mix of males and females.  But the female plurals are only specific and limited to females and not to anything else.  So what this means is that Noble Verse 33:33 was talking about Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, his wives, his daughter and her family, since the plural, "aankum" ("from you" in Arabic) in Noble Verse 33:33, is not a feminine one.  So we know for sure that there are at least one male and at least two females in this group.  Of course, the plural could also be for males only, but since both Sunnis and Shias agree that there is at least one female, then the possibility of females is there.

Now whether or not Ahlul-Bayt in Noble Verse 33:33 included the Prophet's wives, Ali (the Prophet's cousin), Fatimah (the Prophet's daughter), and/or Hasan and Hussein (Ali's and Fatimah's two sons) is really irrelevant, because in the following Noble Verses we will clearly see that all of the true Believers are also purified in the same exact manner as Ahlul-Bayt were purified.  So there is nothing GODly or super-special about Ahlul-Bayt, and it is absolutely wrong to seek them in prayers as intermediaries between the person and GOD Almighty.

Let us look at the following Noble Verses:

7:71 قال قد وقع عليكم من ربكم رجس وغضب اتجادلونني في اسماء سميتموها انتم واباؤكم مانزل الله بها من سلطان فانتظروا اني معكم من المنتظرين

‏9:125 واما الذين في قلوبهم مرض فزادتهم رجسا الى رجسهم وماتوا وهم كافرون

"But as for those in whose hearts is a disease (of doubt, disbelief and hypocrisy), it will add suspicion and doubt to their suspicion, disbelief and doubt, and they die while they are disbelievers (Luke 2:52: GOD forgave Jesus' sins and was "charitable" with him).  (The Noble Quran, 9:125)"

‏10:100 وماكان لنفس ان تؤمن الا باذن الله ويجعل الرجس على الذين لايعقلون

"No soul can believe, except by the will of God, and He will place doubt (or obscurity) on those who will not understand.  (The Noble Quran, 10:100)"

‏22:30 ذلك ومن يعظم حرمات الله فهو خير له عند ربه واحلت لكم الانعام الا مايتلى عليكم فاجتنبوا الرجس من الاوثان واجتنبوا قول الزور

"That is ALLAH's commandment. And whoso honours the things declared sacred by ALLAH, it will be good for him with his Lord. And the eating of the flesh of all cattle is made lawful to you except that which has already been announced to you in the Qur'an. Shun, therefore, the abomination of idols, and shun all words of untruth,  (The Noble Quran, 22:30)"

‏4:146 الا الذين تابوا واصلحوا واعتصموا بالله واخلصوا دينهم لله فاولئك مع المؤمنين وسوف يؤت الله المؤمنين اجرا عظيما

"Except for those who repent, mend (their lives) hold fast to God, and purify their religion as in God's sight: if so they will be (numbered) with the believers (Luke 2:52: GOD forgave Jesus' sins and was "charitable" with him). And soon will God grant to the believers a reward of immense value.  (The Noble Quran, 4:146)"

‏9:103 خذ من اموالهم صدقة تطهرهم وتزكيهم بها وصل عليهم ان صلاتك سكن لهم والله سميع عليم

"Take alms out of their wealth, so that thou mayest cleanse them and purify them thereby. And pray for them; thy prayer indeed is a source of tranquility for them. And ALLAH is All-Knowing.  (The Noble Quran, 9:103)"

"Gardens of Eternity, beneath which streams flow; they will abide therein for ever. And that is the recompense of those who keep themselves pure.  (The Noble Quran, 20:76)"

"O ye who believe ! Follow not the footsteps of Satan, and whoso follows the footsteps of satan should know that he, surely, enjoins indecency and manifest evil. And but for the grace of ALLAH and HIS mercy upon you, not one of you would ever be pure; but ALLAH purifies whom HE pleases. And ALLAH is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.  (The Noble Quran, 24:21)"

As the reader clearly sees, especially those who read Arabic, the purification that the "People of the House of the Prophet" (Ahlul Bayt) received, is also given to the believers in the Noble Quran.  All of the Noble Words that Allah Almighty used in Noble Verse 33:33 in reference to purifying Ahlul-Bayt were also used for the Believers as I clearly demonstrated above.

So whether or not Ali was cheated out of the Caliphate or not, that is irrelevant to me as a Muslim today.  But to claim that Ali is perfect, sinless and infallible, and that he is Allah Almighty's Mercy and he and the rest of his family are intermediaries between you and Allah Almighty is both an innovation and a blasphemy!  As a matter of a fact, I personally know that some of Shias believe that Hasan was a "coward" for not fighting back for his father's death!  Hasan or Al-Hasan was the older brother.  It was Hussein or Al-Hussein who died in the battle against the hypocrites whom his father, Caliph Ali, fought.

To me, none of this history means anything.  While millions upon millions of mislead Muslims use such history to justify animosity among each others, but I would never judge a person based on a history like this.  The modern hypocrites from both Sunnis and Shias turned Islam into a Protestants-Catholics war zone.  But the Shias take the majority of the blame in my opinion because:

1-  They not only hold on to a ridiculous history that is irrelevant to all of us today, but they also seek the SPIRITS of Ahlul Bayt for guidance exactly as the Christians seek Jesus (Luke 2:52: GOD forgave Jesus' sins and was "charitable" with him).  Yet, this has no basis in the Noble Quran.  On the contrary, Allah Almighty clearly said that the Holy Spirit is the spirit of inspiration:

‏40:15 رفيع الدرجات ذو العرش يلقي الروح من امره على من يشاء من عباده لينذر يوم التلاق

"Say, the Holy Spirit has brought the Revelation from thy Lord in Truth, in order to strengthen those who believe, and as a Guide and Glad Tidings to Muslims.  (The Noble Quran, 16:102)"

‏16:102 قل نزله روح القدس من ربك بالحق ليثبت الذين امنوا وهدى وبشرى للمسلمين

2-  Have they not held on to their blasphemous beliefs, almost 100% of the Muslims today would be all under one school of thought.

Conclusion:

The Shias interpretation of the Noble Verse 33:33 had been soundly refuted above.  Their blasphemous elating of the Ahlul Bayt is no more than an idol worship to them.  They fail to realize that Allah Almighty did warn the Muslims from the likes of them in the Noble Quran:

"They take their priests and their anchorites to be their lords in derogation of God, and (they take as their Lord) Christ the son of Mary; yet they were commanded to worship but One God: there is no god but He. Praise and glory to Him: (Far is He) from having the partners they associate (with Him). (The Noble Quran, 9:31)"

I therefore say the following:

"They take ahlul bayt to be their lords in derogation of God, and (they take as their Lord) ALI (their CHRIST) the son of Abi-Talib, yet they were commanded to worship but One God: there is no god but He.  Praise and glory to Him: (Far is He) from having the partners they associate (with Him).  (My application of Noble Verse 9:31 on the blasphemous shias)"

So "Ya Ali Madad" (O Ali Help) is clearly an absurd prayer especially when neither him or his son Hussein could help themselves from death when they did not want to die.  Not only that, but his oldest son, Hasan, is considered as a "coward" by some Shias, as I was personally told, for not revenging for his father.  Hasan is Ali's son and Prophet Muhammad's grand son and he is one who was supposed to be perfect, sinless and infallible according to the Shia's twisted beliefs, since he was part of the Ahlul-Bayt when Noble Verse 33:33 came down.

Personally, I do not have an opinion about Hasan because this history is irrelevant to me.  It is like the history of Adam and Eve, peace be upon them; I know it and I don't care about it, and I don't form opinions on controversial people like Adam, Eve and Hasan.  I just take the history as is, not make any big deal out of anything in it, since none of it is relevant to me or means anything to me today, and I move on to the real Islamic issues that the Muslims need to be concerned with.

But again, the problem with the Shias is not only limited to their negative opinions on the Prophet's wives and close companions, peace be upon all of them.  Their much bigger problem, to me personally, is the excessive glorification of some creations of GOD Almighty, who were created from dust, and elating them to a level where they actually pray to them!  They seek them in prayers!  That blasphemy to me can never be overlooked or ignored.

I can tolerate and co-exist with a Shia who has a negative opinion about Caliph Omar, for instance.  I am a strong believer in tolerance, forgiveness and open mind.  I personally would never like the negative opinion, nor would I ever appreciate it because Caliph Omar has done countless wonderful things for Islam, but I can live with it, because, again, that history, as is, should no longer be relevant to us today, should we ever think about uniting as one Ummah (nation), and I am not GOD Almighty to judge anyone.  Everyone 1,500 years ago did something that contributed to the shaping of the Islam that we have today.  Some of the things that were done were controversial, because humans are humans, and the Prophet's companions were no different.  So if he doesn't like a close companion of Prophet Muhammad, then so be it.  I personally would never create a fitnah (tumult) among Muslims for issues like that.  But idol worship and blasphemies are something I can never accept from any Muslim, because that goes into the heart and fundamentals of the Islam that I strongly believe in.

Seeking Ali's help and mercy (calling him GOD Almighty's Mercy), ironically even more than seeking GOD Almighty Himself, is no less than idol-worship to me.  Ali to them is Jesus Christ to the Christians.  Both men are treated as intermediaries between their followers and Allah Almighty.  Allah Almighty clearly declared that type of belief as blasphemy in Noble Verse 9:31 above.

That's my humble opinion, and Allah Almighty knows best.
