The Noble Quran is filled with scientific statements and notions.  These are statements of Allah Almighty describing how He created things on earth and in the Universe.  What's most amazing is that all of these scientific statements and notions had been proven to be in perfect agreement with science and our modern-day scientific discoveries.  Allah Almighty made the Noble Quran be Prophet Muhammad's (peace be upon him) Everlasting Divine Miracle and proof for Prophethood.  The Holy Book certainly stood the test of time 1,500 years ago with Its Claims, Prophecies and Miraculous language eloquence, and it does again and again in our day today with Its overwhelming agreement with science and discoveries that were not known to man 1,500 years ago.

With this said, let us first look at what our Beloved and Blessed Prophet, Muhammad, said regarding the Scientific Notions in the Noble Quran:

Narrated Abu Huraira: "I heard Allah's Apostle saying, "I have been sent with Jawami al-Kalim (i.e., the shortest expression carrying the widest meanings), and I was made victorious with awe (caste into the hearts of the enemy), and while I was sleeping, the keys of the treasures of the earth were brought to me and were put in my hand." Muhammad said, Jawami'-al-Kalim means that Allah expresses in one or two statements or thereabouts the numerous matters that used to be written in the books revealed before (the coming of) the Prophet.  (Translation of Sahih Bukhari, Interpretation of Dreams, Volume 9, Book 87, Number 141)"

As we clearly see, the Prophet said that he was sent to reveal pithy words that encompass many meanings and topics, which are short in quantity and rich in meanings and interpretations.

In a previous article, I have thoroughly demonstrated using several Noble Verses how Allah Almighty talked about our Ozone layer being a raised and protective roof above earth.  In this article, we will see how the Scientific Notion that Allah Almighty used for the Ozone layer seems to also state the raising of the Ozone layer does perfectly balance air pressure and life on earth, especially that Allah Almighty swore by the "raised sky".

To a simple bedouin such as our Beloved and Blessed Prophet, Role Model and Teacher, Muhammad, Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon him, who lived in Arabia 1,500 years ago, looking up in the sky during the day and seeing it blue with white clouds, and looking at it at night and seeing it black with bright dots of stars, wouldn't think in a million years (if he were to live in his same status) that there is an actual protective layer (what we call today the Ozone layer) covering the entire planet earth!!!

Let us look at what Allah Almighty Said in the Noble Quran regarding the lifted Ozone layer.  First of all, Allah Almighty gave the following Promise about showing us His clear Signs, Signatures and Miracles in the Noble Quran:

"We will soon show them Our signs in the Universe and INSIDE THEIR SELVES, until it will become quite clear to them that it is the truth. Is it not sufficient as regards your Lord that He is a witness over all things?  (The Noble Quran, 41:53)"

Let us now see what Allah Almighty Said regarding the Ozone layer:

1-  Allah Almighty swears by the earth's elevated ceiling:

[052:003]  On parchment unfolded;
[052:004]  And by the ever Frequented House (The Kaaba in Mecca);
[052:005]  And by the Elevated Roof (sky);
[052:006]  And by the Swollen Sea;

2-  Allah Almighty made our sky (Ozone) a secure ceiling:

[021:032]  And (for you), We deemed the sky to be a safe and secure ceiling. Yet, these are the signs they overlook!

[021:032]  And we rendered the sky a guarded ceiling. Yet, they are totally oblivious to all the portents therein.

Question: Verse 21:32  وَجَعَلْنَا السَّمَاءَ سَقْفًا مَّحْفُوظًا وَهُمْ عَنْ آيَاتِهَا مُعْرِضُون The word (محفوظاً) does it mean (protected) or (protective) in other words is it the sky protects us or is it that the sky is protected.  Is it objective or subjective Answering: It is both objective and subjective. The sky is both a protector for us and is also protected from harm.  A SAQF سَقْفًا (ceiling) is something that is above one's head and is both protective and protected.  MAHFOOTH محفوظ (protected, protective) is derived from HIFTH (keep, memorize as in memorizing the Quran).  If I give you $1000 to keep until I return from a trip, then the money is in your HIFTH (keep and protection).  Visit also Aurora Lights Hadith:    Allah Almighty in the Glorious Quran said that earth is:        -  Spherical: "egg-shaped" [1].        -  Is rotating around itself.        -  Is moving in space in curvy orbits [2].        -  Is in constant motion.        -  Is suspended in space.        -  Is swimming in space.        -  Is traveling through the constantly expanding universe [3].        -  The sunsetless North Pole miracle in the Glorious Quran [4].  At the top of the North Pole, the sun never sets [4], and I showed the video for that, and also quoted the scientific sources for that. And we had full knowledge of the forces that were with him. Arabic (Read from right to left.  Also, all png image files: [1] [2].  Quran Moral Code (100s of them)]): ‏18:91 كذلك وقد احطنا بما لديه خبرا     Prophet Muhammad "did see" (Quran 53.18) the Aurora Lights covering the horizons above the earth from space.  Dhil-Qarnayn went up to the farthest northern lands where the sun is up, and "Thus it was", Allah Almighty completed the "full knowledge" regarding Dhil-Qarnayn's mission.  This further supports the story below about Dhil-Qarnayn's journey to the farthest northern lands and people (The sunsetless [4] North Pole Quran-miracle).  They also spoke almost unintelligibly (18:93), the Glorious Quran says.  They hardly spoke intelligibly (18:93).  For example, can you read or say this: "Vaðlaheiðarvegavinnuverkfærageymsluskúrslyklakippuhringurinn" ??  This is an actual word. Historians have proven that the Barbarians of the North used to speak unintelligibly.  The actual meaning of the word "Barbarian" is someone who speaks unintelligibly.  The description of the people of the North, whose North Pole is truly sunsetless (see ample pictures), perfectly fits the Barbarians of the Vikings in the Scandinavian and other Barbarians in the near by lands: The early Muslims believed that Dhil Qarnayn reached the people of the farthest norths of the earth.  The following is a map of Al-Sharif Al-Idrisi in year 1154 giving the geographic location of where Dhil Qarnayn went according to the understanding of the early Muslims of Noble Verses 18:83-100: Dhil-Qarnayn literally means "man of two horns" Dhil = One who has. قرنين Qarnayn = two horns.  Qarnayn is a dual plural of Qarn (horn). [035:041] Indeed it is Allah Who holds the heavens and the earth (under control), and keeps them from falling into disarray. There is no one except He, Who can hold them together, should they break loose and deviate. Of course, He is the most Forbearing, the most Forgiving!

Allah Almighty in the Noble Quran does not swear on something that isn't big deal.  The fact that He swore on the elevated ceiling proves that there are hidden Miracles in this ceiling that man should investigate and discover.

Well, we all know today the Ozone layer does filter out the sun rays (blocks out the sun's ultraviolet rays) and does protect us from the dangers of space - along with keeping our air "inside".  But there is more to the raising of the Ozone layer and with Allah Almighty swearing by it.  Scientists have recently discovered that the elevation of the Ozone layer indeed keeps the air pressure balanced, and that if the former was closer to earth, then the air pressure and temperature would be imbalanced, which would make life on earth impossible.

Other stunning references in the Noble Quran!

To further prove that we indeed have a Scientific Miracle in the Noble Verses above regarding air pressure and the raising of the Ozone layer, which Allah Almighty SWORE BY, Allah Almighty said some stunning Noble Verses for the following topics:

1-  Lack of Oxygen and painful low pressure in space.  Science confirmed the Noble Quran's Divine Claim.

5-  The moon's S-shaped orbit around earth is shaped like a branch of a date tree, mentioned in the Noble Quran and confirmed by Science!

Allah Almighty described the shape of the moon's entire orbit around the earth as a shape of an old and dried-out date tree's branch, also scientifically known and confirmed today as S-shaped.  The shape of the old and dried-out branch of a date tree does resemble the letter "S".  I provided images in the article that prove this.

6-  If the Noble Quran says the earth is "egg-shaped" through a Notion, then why couldn't Prophet Muhammad just say it clear in plain Arabic?

Allah Almighty described the shape of the earth's orbit around the sun as egg-shaped which had also been confirmed by science.

There is no question that the balance and altitude of the Ozone layer (our raised roof) plays an important role in filtering out the run's deadly ultraviolet rays and keeping the air pressure and temperature in balance.  Indeed, this is something that is big enough for Allah Almighty to Swear by it.  Again, Allah Almighty Said:

"We will soon show them Our signs in the Universe and INSIDE THEIR SELVES, until it will become quite clear to them that it is the truth. Is it not sufficient as regards your Lord that He is a witness over all things?  (The Noble Quran, 41:53)"

Indeed, all Praise and Glory are due to Allah Almighty alone.
