Responding to Jochen Katz attempted response To Jesus mentioning the prophet Muhammad's coming in the Quran

The boss of Answering Islam has attempted to respond to one of my short articles, his response can be found here:

I would like to thank Jochen for responding, since his attempts at trying to make me look bad, and make him look smart severely backfired against him, and this will now give me a great opportunity to show that even Jochen, who is the boss knows nothing about Islam nor knows anything about writing a real rebuttal just like his right hand man Sam Shamoun.

On 14 April 2006 Osama Abdallah, editor of the Muslim polemics website Answering Christianity, published a short article by making this amazing claim:

The purpose of this article is to simply quote a great verse from the Noble Quran, a verse that you will NEVER hear Christian missionaries bringing up, here is the great verse:

YUSUFALI: And remember, Jesus, the son of Mary, said: "O Children of Israel! I am the messenger of Allah (sent) to you, confirming the Law (which came) before me, and giving Glad Tidings of a Messenger to come after me, whose name shall be Ahmad." But when he came to them with Clear Signs, they said, "this is evident sorcery!"

Basically this verse records Jesus telling his people about the prophet Muhammad, that the prophet Muhammad would come after him. You will never see any Christian missionary quote this verse, why? As the reader will shortly see, this verse is more a problem for Muslims than it is for Christians. But I am getting ahead of myself. Before addressing this verse, I want to deal with 's claim that Christians are so frightened of its powerful message that they don't dare to even mention it. Is that really so?

My response to the above statements will consist of three short parts, with some supplemental material placed into an excursus and an appendix.

My Response

Indeed, do not get ahead of yourself yet, because I want to expose you really badly now, and I stand by what I said, Christian missionaries NEVER bring this verse up for some strange reason, why? Well we have to ask the missionaries about that now dont we?

Nothing is easier to refute than this assertion. Let me begin by simply pointing to the article The Unintelligibility and Incompleteness of the Quran <../../Quran/Incoherence/unintelligible.html> which was published on Answering Islam on 8 August 2005. It bears the subtitle "The Journey By Night, Muhammad, Ahmad and Zaid". The second <../../Quran/Incoherence/unintelligible.html> section of this three part article begins with the statement, "Another

problem we face when dealing with the Quran has to do with the names Muhammad and Ahmad", and then continues with nearly two pages of discussion of a number of problems associated with this very verse that Christians allegedly never dare to mention.

Never say NEVER, , particularly when you didn't make the slightest effort to "research" the truth of your bold claim.

My Response

Some friendly advice to you Jochen is that you stop trying to be smart, since it doesn't work, no offense meant. See, if someone read my article, they would understand my argument, my argument was that when Christian missionaries present Jesus in Islam, they always try to make him seem divine according to the Quran. They like to say Jesus did great miracles, that Jesus was the word of God, and a spirit from God, they always love bringing this up when discussing the Jesus in Islam. However so they hardly and NEVER bring up the verse that Jesus said that the prophet Muhammad would be coming after him.

Note, the link Jochen brings up is simply an article to attack the credibility of Islam, there is a difference when you bring this verse up to attack Islam, than when you bring this verse up to teach about the Jesus of Islam, now do you get it?

For example, in these articles on the Answering-Islam site, they bring up the Jesus of Islam, yet they DO NOT mention the verse of Jesus talking about the prophet Muhammad!

If you read that long article by Shamoun, you will see he tries to show that Jesus is divine according to Islam, and he brings up Quranic verses discussing Jesus' miracles, and honorific titles, yet he doesn't bring up anything about Jesus talking about the comming of the prophet Muhammad!!! WHY?

You see Mr.Katz, you prove my point, when you bring up Jesus in Islam, in a comparative analysis etc, you NEVER mention Surah 61:6, the only time you ever bring up Surah 61:6 is when you want to ATTACK Islam, so there is a difference incase you don't get that. When it suits missionaries to quote about Jesus in Islam, to missionize Muslims, Christian missionaries will NEVER quote Surah 61:6 even Jochen knows this! And Jochen even knows that this is what I meant! Incase Jochen did not get my point, I will write it in big bold letter for him to understand:

When Christian missionaries missionazie on Muslims, the missionaries never quote Surah 6:16!

Yet, they quote the Verses on his miracles, his birth, his honorific titles, but never Surah 61:6.  When the missionaries discuss the topic "is Jesus God?", they love to use the Quran to show that Jesus is also divine in the Quran, yet, never quoting Surah 61:6.

Now do you get my point Jochen? You tried to be smart, yet you built an army of straw man against me! HOW NICE!

I put "research" into quotation marks because that is really too big a word for the simple task of putting "61:6" into the box on our search page <../../search.html> and pressing the button, "Start ‘Google Search’". Doing this search on our three mirror sites would have given you more than 50 different pages containing that reference.

Moreover, on 22 January 2006, i.e. less than three months before releasing 's claim on 14 April 2006, Osama Abdallah published his so-called Rebuttal to Sam Shamoun's "Was Muhammad the Last Messenger?" article in which he quotes Sam Shamoun as quoting and discussing S. 61:6! Here is Sam Shamoun's passage as quoted by Osama Abdallah:

The author of the Quran could have avoided all this confusion, thereby preventing individuals from using these references to support their claim, by simply inserting the name of Muhammad or by saying that Muhammad was the last messenger. In other words, the author could have written Sura 3:81 to say that a messenger is coming whose name is such and such, explicitly mentioning that messenger by name, much like the words he put into the mouth of Jesus:

And call to mind when Jesus, son of Mary, said, ‘O children of Israel, surely, I am ALLAH's Messenger unto you, fulfilling that which is before me of the prophecies of the Torah, and giving glad tidings of a Messenger who will come after me, his name being Ahmad. And when he came to them with clear proofs, they said, this is manifest sorcery.’ Sura 61:6

(Note: Even this passage’s meaning is debated since it is not certain whether this is giving the proper name of someone to come, or is simply giving a specific description of that person. Your own website is proof that Sam Shamoun is quoting and discussing this verse in at least two articles. Talk about total embarrassment for both, the author and the editor Osama Abdallah.

My Response

Actually embarrassment is having a thug such as Sam Shamoun working for you, as we shall shortly see from his army of insults against the Answering-Christianity team, that my friend is embarrassing.

Now once again note, the article he quotes from, is an attack on the credibility of Islam, my point was that missionaries never bring up Surah 61:6 up when they missionize on Muslims when it deals with the topic of Jesus.

So I suggest that Jochen starts paying attention, and quit being smart, because it does not suit you. :)

Despite this devastating verdict by one of Islam's greatest experts on the history and psychology of Christian missionaries, it seems that there are, after all, quite a few courageous and honest Christian missionaries around.

Taking it as a given that is always correct, what have we just proven? None of all these people are Christian missionaries!

Enough of that an silliness. At the very least, I hope that will now study diligently what all those courageous Christians have written about this fearsome verse. In any case, whether will care to do so or not, I will give my personal view on it.

I THINK NOT, so you have still yet to refute my point, missionaries will never bring up Surah 61:6 when they missionize on Muslims, even this missionary Jochen Katz knows this! So no Jochen, enough with YOUR silliness in attacking straw man, and trying to be smart, quit acting like a kid and grow up.

2. The Real Problem with S. 61:6

Frankly, I don't know of any Christian who sees a reason to hide that verse or to cover it up. I was certainly never warned of that verse by anyone. In fact, why would Christians be afraid to discuss a verse that should be a major embarrassment to thinking Muslims?

My Response

The reason why missionaries are afraid to quote this verse, including yourself, is because it completely crushes your missionizing attempts at trying to make the Jesus of Islam look like something he is not, such as being divine, and some Christian missionaries go as far as claiming that Jesus is God according to the Quran!

As for the verse being an embarrassment, I see no reason to why it is, but if you want embarrising verses, then we should go no further than your un-holy Bible:

Malachi 2 1 And now, O ye priests, this commandment is for you. 2 If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith the LORD of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do not lay it to heart. 3 Behold, I will corrupt your seed, and spread dung upon your faces, even the dung of your solemn feasts; and one shall take you away with it

Ezekiel 4:9-12:

9 Take thou also unto thee wheat, and barley, and beans, and lentiles, and millet, and fitches, and put them in one vessel, and make thee bread thereof, according to the number of the days that thou shalt lie upon thy side, three hundred and ninety days shalt thou eat thereof. 10 And thy meat which thou shalt eat shall be by weight, twenty shekels a day: from time to time shalt thou eat it. 11 Thou shalt drink also water by measure, the sixth part of an hin: from time to time shalt thou drink. 12 And thou shalt eat it as barley cakes, and thou shalt bake it with dung that cometh out of man, in their sight

The two kids can be found in the lineage of Jesus:

Talk about embarrassing! If the Quranic verses of Jesus talking about the prophet Muhammad is embarrassing, then Jochen will have to admit these verses are 10 times more embarrassing. If he does not, then we all are witnesses to see that Jochen is not objective, and that he is a hypocrite. So who is embarrassed now friend?

My Response

Are any of those articles missionizing articles? Or are they simple attacks against the credibility of Islam? Again, no Christian missionary brings this verse up when missionizing on Muslims, this missionary Jochen knows this as well.

If you got offended, then go become abit more emotionally stronger to take heat from your Muslim counter parts, you never care about what is written on your site, and I can tell you a lot of offensive things about Islam have been written on your site, so you my friend are the last to complain about feeling offended etc.

Katz is now guilty of appealing to emotion, which is a fallacy in argumentation. Indeed the disbelievers from the people of the book are the worst, you disbelieve in God! Apostle Peter:

"But these men blaspheme in matters they do not understand. They are like brute beasts, creatures of instinct, born only to be caught and destroyed, and like beasts they too will perish ... They promise them freedom, while they themselves are slaves of depravity - for a man is a slave to whatever has mastered him ... Of them the proverbs are true: ‘A dog returns to its vomit,’ and, ‘A sow that is washed goes back to her wallowing in the mud.’" 2 Peter 2:12, 19, 22

 

So Jochen Katz has just disqualified his own God, and Peter the disciple, thank you very much Katz, I couldn't ask for more.

 

Jochen Katz then ends his article with an appendix, he basically shows me calling some of his fellow authors as being fools, stupid, liars etc etc. Anyone who reads my papers know that everytime I call someone a liar, or a fool, or any other name, I always prove my claim! So there is a difference between insulting someone for fun or when you call them for what they are, like you mr.Katz are pathetic for your double-standards, this is not an insult, this is the truth.

 

CONCLUSION

 

It is obvious that Mr.Katz so called response was nothing more than a paper he wrote out of frustration and anger at me, all he did in this article of his was whine and cry foul play, but I am not his mother, or his wife, so he should go cry on their shoulders, not come online and waste all of our time by writing a long paper filled with nonsense of him crying and playing like a victim. Jochen Katz caused severe problems for himself, he dis-qualified his premier writer Sam Shamoun and we shall see if Katz fires Shamoun or not, Katz also disqualified his own God and the disciple Peter, so Katz has dug a big hole for himself.
