Divorce in the Bible: A case of abrogation.

COUNTLESS abrogations by GOD Almighty in Moses' and David's books in the OT!

Refuting Sam Shamoun's "Consummation VS Abrogation" lies!

Quick Notes on Shamoun's Arguments:

Sam Shamoun argues that any abrogation from the New Testament to the Old Testament doesn't count, because GOD Almighty supposedly had replaced the "old system" with a new one. While I agree with him that the "old system" was limited only to the Jews and thus GOD Almighty did indeed abrogate that, but still even in the old system there are, as we clearly see in the link above, ample abrogations in GOD Almighty's Commands.

Now it is also important to know that the "new system" that Shamoun is talking about is not the New Testament (NT), because

(a)- The NT is not original. It not only was written by third-party and mysterious authors centuries after Jesus and his original disciples, but it also contains overwhelming amount of errors and contradictions in it. The reader can clearly see this at: www.answering-christianity.com/contra.htm. Ironically, not only is the bible full of contradictions and corruption, but even the bible-theologians admit to this:

The Christian and Bible theologians call them "fictions that exist in the Bible"!

The Christian and Bible theologians say "The original manuscripts had been lost"!

The Christian and Bible theologians call them "fairy tales and fables in the Bible"!

Countless contradictions and corruption.

The original authors are "unknown" of almost all of the bible's books and gospels.

(b)- No where in the NT does Jesus ever claim to be GOD Almighty. Trinity is a lie that was invented by the pagans who worshiped a three-headed god. Ironically, the word itself doesn't even exist in the Bible! Please visit: www.answering-christianity.com/at.htm.

(d)- The New System is Islam, because after the Jews and Christians have corrupted and destroyed their scriptures beyond repair, Allah Almighty saw the need to send a new Prophet to a brand new and fresh people, the Arabs, who were ready for a Prophet and didn't have any corrupted revelations that would pollute and corrupt any new ones. Christians are often fond of making arguments against the Quranic concept of abrogation, they also like to claim that the concept of abrogation does not exist in the Bible:

However so, in this article, we shall also see that abrogation does exist in the Bible. The New testament abrogates the Old testament several times, one such case, is on divorce.

¹When a man hath taken a wife, and married her, and it come to pass that she find no favor in his eyes, because he hath found some uncleanness in her: then let him write her a bill of divorcement, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house. ²And when she is departed out of his house, she may go and be another man's wife.

So note in the OT if a man finds no favor with his wife because of some reason, he can divorce her, and the wife can go marry another man. The divorced man can also marry another women:

⁵When a man hath taken a new wife, he shall not go out to war, neither shall he be charged with any business: but he shall be free at home one year, and shall cheer up his wife which he hath taken

For example, by law a married woman is bound to her husband as long as he is alive, but if her husband dies, she is released from the law that binds her to him. So then, if she marries another man while her husband is still alive, she is called an adulteress.

A woman is bound to her husband as long as he lives. But if her husband dies, she is free to marry anyone she wishes, but he must belong to the Lord

So note Paul now comes and abrogates the former law in the OT, now women CANNOT get divorced or marry again unless their husband is dead!

Paul was not a disciple of Jesus nor did he ever meet Jesus in person or see his face while Jesus was on earth. Paul became an "apostle" long after Jesus departed. One day on his way to Damascus, he claimed that Jesus came down to him and commanded him to become his apostle.

Most, if not all, of Paul's followers only knew Paul's teachings. They never heard of Jesus' teachings from the disciples. Therefore, Paul's failure to address Jesus' condition, below, about divorce only being allowed in the case of sexual immorality clearly proves that Paul's audience never knew about Jesus' condition. Therefore, Paul either abrogated Jesus or simply contradicted him because his students were taught partial teachings of Christianity's laws of marriage and divorce.

But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, causes her to become an adulteress, and anyone who marries the divorced woman commits adultery.

I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery."

"Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery, and the man who marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

When they were in the house again, the disciples asked Jesus about this. He answered, "Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery against her. And if she divorces her husband and marries another man, she commits adultery."

So note, now Jesus states if you divorce your wife and marry someone else, then this is adultery, this is a clear abrogation of the previous law in the OT where women and man were allowed to marry again after divorce.

However what makes this case more interesting is that Paul abrogates Jesus' law!

Paul now states that women are bound to their husbands as long as they are alive:

A woman is bound to her husband as long as he lives. But if her husband dies, she is free to marry anyone she wishes, but he must belong to the Lord

So note for Paul women are bound to their husbands as long as they live, no divorce, this is contrary to what Jesus said:

But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, causes her to become an adulteress, and anyone who marries the divorced woman commits adultery.

So Jesus states that divorce is permitted if the spouse has committed sexual immorality, hence if the husband committed adultery the wife is not bound to her husband anymore.

So as we see, not only does the New Testament abrogate the Old Testament, the New Testament also abrogates itself!
