The Hadiths:
Bukhari: Book 4: Volume 54: Hadith 509
“Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "Yawning is from Satan and if anyone of you yawns, he should check his yawning as much as possible, for if anyone of you (during the act of yawning) should say: 'Ha', Satan will laugh at him."
Muslim: Book 42: Hadith 7130
“The son of Abu Said al-Khudri reported on the authority of his father that Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: When one of you yawns, he should keep his mouth shut with the help of his hand, for it is the devil that enters therein.”
So according to the Infidels, Satan makes us yawn?? That’s a blatant lie, this rebuttal will explain what is meant with “Yawning is from Satan” and “Satan enters therein” and “Satan laugh at him”
I found a Fatwa on this, so most of this article will be from the Fatwa, but I will put my own words into it as well:
1. Explaining “Yawning is From Satan”
Concerning the meaning of that, it was said that the Shaytaan likes to see a person yawning because it makes him look different and so he laughs at him. It does not mean that the Shaytaan is the one who makes him yawn. And it was said that yawning is attributed to the Shaytaan because yawning comes from fullness of the stomach, which generates laziness, which happens under the influence of the Shaytaan. Al-Nawawi (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Yawning is attributed to the Shaytaan because it promotes whims and desires, because it stems from heaviness of the body, excessive relaxation and fullness of the stomach.
Note from me Mahir: A Muslim is to eat less because all prophets used to eat as little as possible to keep themselves firm on the path to God. The Bible teaches that eating too much is a sin, its called the sin of gluttony:

Al-Manaawi (may Allah have mercy on him) said: It is attributed to him because he is the one who calls for giving the self its share of desires. What is meant here is to warn against the things that lead to that, which is eating too much and eating one's fill, which makes the body feel too heavy and tired to do acts of worship.
2. What about Ramadan, why do we yawn if the Shaytans are chained?
There should be no confusion stemming from the fact that people yawn during Ramadan even though the devils are chained up at that time, because what is meant by saying that it is from the Shaytaan is that he likes it. The fact that he likes it and approves of it does not mean that he is not chained, rather that could happen even if he was chained.
3. What about Science, is there an explanation?
As the fatwa stated:
“There should be no confusion ……because what is meant by saying that it is from the Shaytaan is that he likes it”
So this hadith is not a hadith about science, the anti-Muslims interpret every hadith in a scientific way, although merely 5% or so of all hadiths talk about science!
4. Why does Satan enter us when we yawn?
With regard to the phrase in the report by Muslim, “the Shaytaan enters” it may be that what is meant is entering in a real sense, because although the Shaytaan flows through man like his blood, he cannot gain any control over him so long as he remembers Allah, but when a person is yawning he is not remembering Allah, so the Shaytaan is able to enter him in a real sense.
Or it may be that what is meant by entering is gaining control over him, because the one who enters a thing is able to gain control of it.
As for why Satan enters the body of a Muslim, it is to cause doubts in his heart and mind, to distract him from remembering Allah and to distract him during prayer:
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) has warned us against some of these things.
“The Shaytaan comes to any one of you and says, ‘Who created such and such? Who created such and such?’ until he says, ‘Who created your Lord?’ If that happens to you, seek refuge with Allah and give up these thoughts.” Narrated by al-Bukhari, no. 3277
As Muslims, we should not be afraid of these thoughts because these thoughts are CLEAR signs of faith:
The companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came to him complaining about the doubts and waswaas (Whispers) that they were suffering. In Saheeh Muslim it is narrated that Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) said:
“Some of the companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came to him and said, ‘We find in our hearts things that none of us dares utter.’ He said, ‘Do you really find that?’ They said, ‘Yes.’ He said, ‘That is clear faith.’” (2/153).
This is why Satan enters the human mind and heart, to gain more control over him and to cause him to doubt matters of faith (Such as Ablution, intentions etc), and to whisper evil Satanic things!
5. Christians used to do the “Holy cross” while yawning!
I find it quite funny that the Christians object to these things, it would make some sense if an atheist complained, because he doesn’t believe in Satan in the first place, but a Christian??

“Polydore Vergil (c. 1470–1555), in his De Rerum Inventoribus, writes that it was customary to make the sign of the cross over one's mouth, since "alike deadly plague was sometime in yawning, wherefore men used to fence themselves with the sign of the cross...which custom we retain at this day."[21]”
So while they are laughing at us Muslims, they are laughing at their own early Trinitarian brothers!
Christians need to understand the meaning of “Metaphor” and “Parable” or “Symbolic”, what if I took this biblical verse LITERALLY:
Proverbs 22:14 “The mouth of an adulteress is a deep pit; he who is under the LORD's wrath will fall into it.”
So if I am under the wrath of God, I will fall into a mouth of an adulteress?
Wait, before you say “This is completely different” THINK about it, if we yawn and Shaytan falls into out mouth, what makes this Biblical verse not literal when it SAYS THE EXACT SAME THING (If God is angry at you, you fall into a mouth of an adulteress)
PLEASE Christians, come with better reasons to why Islam is a fake religion, this just make’s you look desperate.
6. Conclusion
As you see, the known scholars of Islam interpret these hadiths in a symbolic way, and not in a literal way, what is meant by these hadiths is that Satan loves to see us yawn because it make’s us look lazy, forgetful our lord, our facial expression changes and Satan enjoys to see this, we offend other people, and so on.
Yawning with a wide open mouth is offending, and this is common knowledge!!!!
He enters us because, when we yawn, we symbolize laziness and forgetfulness and Satan is keen to enter us while we are forgetful of Allah, to cause us doubt matters of faith!
Back in the days, the question was posed “The people of the book claim that Satan doesn’t enter their minds to whisper evil thoughts and to make them doubt, are they truthful?” the answerer answered “They are truthful, what would Satan want to do in a ruined house?”
So the Christians and Jews may not understand the notion of “Evil Whisperers” because Satan leaves them alone to wander in the darkness, so that’s maybe a good reason to why they find these kinds of hadiths funny!
But the hypocrisy is that they don’t find their own Bible funny:
Proverbs 22:14 “The mouth of an adulteress is a deep pit; he who is under the LORD's wrath will fall into it.”
And I have explained that “..From Satan..” doesn’t mean that Satan causes the Yawning, but that Satan loves it, and what ever Satan loves, it is from him!

Did Isaiah 53 really prophesies about the crucifixion of Jesus? It supports Islam's claims about Jesus peace be upon him never died on the cross. I also addressed John 19:36-37 from the Bible and proved that Jesus never got crucified, since GOD Almighty promised that he will protect Jesus' body and not let even a single bone be broken. My question to all Christians is: How in the world is it possible for the feet to get nailed on the cross without any penetration to the bones by the nails, hence breaking part of the feet's bones?! I also added refutations to Exodus 12:46, Numbers 9:12, Zechariah 12:10 and Psalm 34:20, which supposedly prove the Christians' belief about Jesus crucifixion. I proved that this dogma has no truth what so ever and exposed the wrong Trinitarian English translation of Zechariah 12:10.
