Rebuttal to Ali Sina "Shooting Stars, Allah's Missiles to Scare the Jins?"

Rebuttal: Islam teaches that the stars are as low as the clouds?

There is already a response for this article by Bassam, but I noticed another error Ali Sina was trying to show, look for the red-lined part below:

He repeated the same absurd idea again.

Q. 37: 6/10
”We have indeed decked the lower heaven with beauty (in) the stars,
(For beauty) and for guard against all obstinate rebellious evil spirits,
 (So) they should not strain their ears in the direction of the Exalted Assembly but be cast away from every side,
Repulsed, for they are under a perpetual penalty,
Except such as snatch away something by stealth, and they are pursued by a flaming fire, of piercing brightness.

Q. 67: 5
“And we have, (from of old), adorned the lowest heaven with Lamps, and we have made such (Lamps) (as) missiles to drive away the Evil Ones, and have prepared for them the Penalty of the Blazing Fire.” 

The universe as was envisioned by Muhammad obviously belongs to the realm of fairy tales. The Earth for him was flat were the sun rises from one end and sets in the muddy waters on the other. In Arabic the word “sama” stands for both heaven and sky. And for Muhammad, just like his primitive contemporaries there was no distinction between the two. He described the heaven (sky) made of seven layers and placed the stars in the lowest layer, lower than the Moon. Then he envisioned the mythical Jins as if they were real beings, standing on each other’s shoulders all the way to heaven to eavesdrop to the discussion of the “Exalted Assembly”. He assumed that the stars are just lamps to adorn the lower heaven that are also used as missiles to shoot the intruding Jins. Can any reasonable person today accept these fables of those primitive people as true?

(Note by me: Here is the second so called "error"):

The shooting stars, despite their names are not stars but meteorites that glow when enter the atmosphere of the Earth. But Muhammad could not see the difference; to him the shooting stars were stars.

As absurd as it may be, today’s Muslims still believe in the Jins. It is written in Quran and for them the Quran is the word of Allah. How can it be wrong?

Narrated 'Aisha:
I heard Allah's Apostle saying, "The angels descend, the clouds and mention this or that matter decreed in the Heaven. The devils listen stealthily to such a matter, come down to inspire the soothsayers with it, and the latter would add to it one-hundred lies of their own."

A similar hadith is reported in Sahih Bukhari Volume 9, Book 93, Number 650

Ali Sina was trying to prove that the stars (According the hadith above) are as low as the clouds:

Sina was as well trying to give Islam an error for claiming that stars are used as missiles!

Ali Sina needs to provide the reference either from authentic Hadith or from the glorious Quran about Jin standing on each other’s shoulders.

Secondly, this is all just a matter of faith. Again like I mentioned in my other articles before, because Ali Sina is an anti super naturalist he does not believe in Jinn and finds the whole notion of it ridiculous. Well that is only his opinion and that is irrelevant.

He fails to show any scientific errors. The Quran mentions nothing about shooting stars. That is only the erroneous assumption of Ali Sina. However, stars do move.

If stars are moving, can’t they then while they are moving be used as missiles to drive away the Jinn?

Ali Sina is just desperate to find anything against the Quran.

Let us now look at the verses Ali Sina provided:

 (Qur'an 72):
8.  "And we pried into the secrets of heaven; but we found it filled with stern guards and flaming fires."
9.  "We used to, indeed, to sit there in (hidden) stations, to (steal) a hearing; but any who listen now will find a flaming fire watching him in ambush."

(Qur'an 67: 5)  "And we have, (from of old), adorned the lowest heaven with Lamps, and We have made such (Lamps) (as) missiles to drive away the Evil Ones, and have prepared for them the Penalty of the Blazing Fire."

Now lets take a look at the Hadith Ali Sina provided:

Sahih Bukhari Volume 4, Book 54, Number 432

Narrated 'Aisha:
I heard Allah's Apostle saying, "The angels descend, the clouds and mention this or that matter decreed in the Heaven. The devils listen stealthily to such a matter, come down to inspire the soothsayers with it, and the latter would add to it one-hundred lies of their own."

Do you see how pathetic Ali Sina is?

He is providing a verse where it is said that the Jins go up to heaven to listen to matters talked about, and then are killed by stars, then he provides a Hadith saying that Jinns go up to the clouds to listen.

Thus= Stars are as low as the clouds?

What Ali Sina failed to realize is that Jins USED TO go up high to listen:
Q 72:9.  "We used to..."

The verse said that Jinns used to go up high to listen to the angels when they talked about the future etc they heard from Allah (Almighty), but Allah decided to put a stop to this with STARS!

Let’s read Ibn Kathirs tafsir:

The Chapter in his tafsir is named:

"The Jinns stealing Information from the Sky before the the Messenger was sent and striking them with flaming Fire after His Coming"

(And we have sought to reach the heaven; but found it filled with stern guards and flaming fires. And verily, we used to sit there in stations, to (steal) a hearing, but any who listens now will find a flaming fire watching him in ambush.) Meaning, whoever would like to steal some information by listening, he will find a flaming fire waiting in ambush for him. It will not pass him or miss him, but it will wipe him out and destroy him completely."

So now we know that before the messenger (pbuh), Jinns used to listen matters talked about in the universe, but the one who tries to listen now, he will have a flame in wait for him! (I.e. a star, comet, etc)

Now what does the hadith say? Let’s take a look:

Sahih Bukhari Volume 4, Book 54, Number 432

Narrated 'Aisha:
I heard Allah's Apostle saying, "The angels descend, the clouds and mention this or that matter decreed in the Heaven. The devils listen stealthily to such a matter, come down to inspire the soothsayers with it, and the latter would add to it one-hundred lies of their own."

The thing is, it is forbidden for the Jinns to enter the Universe to listen to matters, because they will get stars, flames and comets etc moving towards them and totally destroying them, BUT this hadith tells us that Jinns still can listen to matters talked about and survive, BUT IF THE ANGELS DESCEND TO THE CLOUDS!

THE REASON WHY THEY WILL SURVIVE AS THE HADITH SAID IS BECAUSE THE STARS ARE NOT AS LOW AS THE CLOUDS:

"I heard Allah's Apostle saying, "The angels descend, the clouds........
.....come down to inspire the soothsayers with it"

This hadith only proves that stars are not as low as the clouds!

Ali Sina failed to realize that the verse said that they used to listen, but can not anymore, because of the stars, but they STILL can listen only if the angels descend to the clouds!

How are the stars as low as the clouds according to Islam? Wouldn’t Allah destroy the Jinns as he said in the verse if indeed the stars are as low as the clouds? Yes indeed he would, but the stars are much higher up in the heaven and this is the reason why they (The Jinns) still can listen!

And by the way, "The lowest heaven" is our universe; the lowest heaven is the only universe we (Humans) have discovered!

= No error, as Bassam said: Ali Sina is too desperate to find a mistake!!
