Brother Osama, I have an excessive problem with masturbation.  Any advise?

1-  Masturbation in bed:

The solution is simple; very simple actually.  Sleep with the Noble Quran next to you in bed.  I guarantee you that out of your natural Fear, Admiration and Honor to Allah Almighty, you will not think about masturbation while His Holy Book is laying with you in the same bed!  Not even the best looking satanic woman out there will be able to tempt you in bed.

Also, don't lie on your stomach or tummy.  For men, this could arouse their sexual desires.  Try to sleep on your back or on any of your sides. 

Also, you have to try your honest and sincere best to stay away from sexual arousing environments and people, and the places and situations that you very well know would arouse your desires for sex.   But ultimately, keeping yourself as chaste and pure as possible in bed will eventually minimize the problem of masturbation in bed.  Allah Almighty Said:

"For Muslim men and women,- for believing men and women, for devout men and women, for true men and women, for men and women who are patient and constant, for men and women who humble themselves, for men and women who give in Charity, for men and women who fast (and deny themselves), for men and women who guard their chastity, and for men and women who engage much in God's praise,- for them has God prepared forgiveness and great reward.  (The Noble Quran, 33:35)"

"And those who guard their chastity, Except with their wives and the (captives) whom their right hands possess,- for (then) they are not to be blamed, But those who trespass beyond this are transgressors;- And those who respect their trusts and covenants; And those who stand firm in their testimonies; And those who guard (the sacredness) of their worship;- Such will be the honoured ones in the Gardens (of Bliss).  (The Noble Quran, 70:29-35)"

Allah Almighty Recognizes the agony that you go through in having sexual desires.  That is why He Promised Big Rewards for those Muslims who just simply keep themselves chaste and pure.

2-  What about the internet?  People can masturbate while browsing porn sites:

There are a number of ways to minimize masturbation through using your personal computer at home:

1-  Stay away from the pornographic web sites.  The places on the internet that you very well know would arouse your desires for sex have to be abandoned as much as possible for the sake of purity and chastity.

2-  Try to focus on Islam and Islamic Research when you are on the internet.

3-  Try to get into dialogs and other Islamic Propagation (such as sending emails to Muslims and non-Muslims) to help your brothers and sisters who are venerable to the non-Islamic attacks with all its kinds (including porn and sexuality) to be more protected, and to fruitfully spend your time on the internet.

4-  Pray to Allah Almighty as much as possible.  Prayer will keep you chaste, and it will help you get closer to Allah Almighty.

5-  If you feel too much urge for sex while surfing the internet, and you feel that by looking at a pornographic picture or video clip on your computer screen will make masturbation be much quicker and easier, then try to minimize the use of the internet for it as much as possible.  This will help you get used to not having excessive sexual desires.  The key word here is "excessive".  Try not to be excessive in your sexual desires and search for pornography on the internet.  It's all in the brain, and I know very well that you can minimize it.  You certainly can not eliminated the natural urge for sex, but you can most definitely minimize it.

Remember that Allah Almighty is there Watching you, and He Knows your real intentions.  Not every sin is punishable in Islam.  That is why Allah Almighty Forgives the sincere ones from His servants.   If you instead of focusing on how many times you can masturbate every day or every week, you should focus on Praying to Allah Almighty to Help you overcome this problem, and He, the Almighty, will definitely and eventually get you out of it.  Allah Almighty Said:

"Because God will never change the grace which He hath bestowed on a people until they change what is in their (own) souls: and verily God is He Who heareth and knoweth (all things).  (The Noble Quran, 8:53)"
