Yusuf Ali:

[008:039] And fight them on until there is no more tumult or oppression, and there prevail justice and faith in God altogether and everywhere; but if they cease, verily God doth see all that they do.

[008:039] (Oh believers)! Fight against them until the mischief and oppression are no more, and faith becomes the domain of Allah exclusively. If they cease, then (remember): Allah watches (vigilantly) over everything they do.

[008:039] Waqatiloohum hatta la takoona fitnatun wayakoona alddeenu kulluhu lillahi fa-ini intahaw fa-inna Allaha bima yaAAmaloona baseerun

‏8:39 وقاتلوهم حتى لاتكون فتنة ويكون الدين كله لله فان انتهوا فان الله بما يعملون بصير

Sher Ali:

[008:039] And fight them until there is no persecution and religion is wholly to ALLAH. But if they desist, then surely ALLAH is Watchful of what they do.

Shakir:

[008:039] And fight with them until there is no more persecution and religion should be only for Allah; but if they desist, then surely Allah sees what they do.

Pickthall:

[008:039] And fight them until persecution is no more, and religion is all for Allah. But if they cease, then lo! Allah is Seer of what they do.

Sale:

[008:039] Therefore fight against them until there be no opposition in favour of idolatry, and the religion be wholly God's. If they desist, verily God seeth that which they do:

Muhammad Al-Hilali & Muhsin Khan:

[008:039] And fight them until there is no more Fitnah (disbelief and polytheism: i.e. worshipping others besides Allah) and the religion (worship) will all be for Allah Alone (in the whole of the world). But if they cease (worshipping others besides Allah), then certainly, Allah is All-Seer of what they do.

Palmer:

[008:039] Fight them then that there should be no sedition, and that the religion may be wholly God's; but if they desist, then God on what they do doth look.
