Yusuf Ali:

[055:054] They will recline on Carpets, whose inner linings will be of rich brocade: the Fruit of the Gardens will be near (and easy of reach).

[055:055] Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?

[055:056] In them will be (Maidens), chaste, restraining their glances, whom no man or Jinn before them has touched;-

[055:054] (The righteous) would recline on (exotic) carpets lined with lush brocade. (Loaded with plentiful fruit), the branches of fruit trees would hang low, within easy reach.

[055:055] So which one of the favors of your Lord won’t you acknowledge? (For how long)?

[055:056] In these (gardens of paradise), the righteous shall have mates that are chaste-eyed and demure _ not deflowered by any human or jinn before them.

Transliteration:

[055:054] Muttaki-eena AAala furushin bata-inuha min istabraqin wajana aljannatayni danin

[055:055] Fabi-ayyi ala-i rabbikuma tukaththibani

[055:056] Feehinna qasiratu alttarfi lam yatmithhunna insun qablahum wala jannun

‏55:54 متكئين على فرش بطائنها من استبرق وجنى الجنتين دان

‏55:55 فباي الاء ربكما تكذبان

‏55:56 فيهن قاصرات الطرف لم يطمثهن انس قبلهم ولاجان

Sher Ali:

[055:054] The inmates thereof will recline on couches over carpets, the linings of which will be of thick brocade. And the fruit of the two Gardens will be within their easy reach.

[055:055] Which, then, of the favours of your Lord will ye twain, deny ?

[055:056] Therein will also be chaste maidens restraining their glances, whom neither man nor jinn will have touched before them -

Shakir:

[055:054] Reclining on beds, the inner coverings of which are of silk brocade; and the fruits of the two gardens shall be within reach.

[055:055] Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny?

[055:056] In them shall be those who restrained their eyes; before them neither man nor jinni shall have touched them.

Pickthall:

[055:054] Reclining upon couches lined with silk brocade, the fruit of both the gardens near to hand.

[055:055] Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny ?

[055:056] Therein are those of modest gaze, whom neither man nor jinni will have touched before them.

Sale:

[055:054] They shall repose on couches, the linings whereof shall be of thick silk interwoven with gold: And the fruit of the two gardens shall be near at hand to gather.

[055:055] Which, therefore, of your Lord's benefits will ye ungratefully deny?

[055:056] Therein shall receive them beauteous damsels, refraining their eyes from beholding any besides their spouses: Whom no man shall have deflowered before them, neither any genius:

[055:054] Reclining upon the couches lined with silk brocade, and the fruits of the two Gardens will be near at hand.

[055:055] Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny?

[055:056] Wherein both will be those (maidens) restraining their glances upon their husbands, whom no man or jinn yatmithhunna (has opened their hymens with sexual intercourse) before them.

Palmer:

[055:054] Reclining on beds the linings of which are of brocade, and the fruit of the two gardens within reach to cull.

[055:055] Then which of your Lord's bounties will ye twain deny?

[055:056] Therein are maids of modest glances whom no man nor ginn has deflowered before.

Arberry:

[055:054] reclining upon couches lined with brocade, the fruits of the gardens nigh to gather --

[055:055] O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny?

[055:056] therein maidens restraining their glances, untouched before them by any man or jinn --

Khalifa: (why is he here?)

[055:054] While relaxing on furnishings lined with satin, the fruits are within reach.

[055:055] Which of your Lord's marvels can you deny?

[055:056] Their beautiful mates were never touched by any human or jinn.

Rodwell:

[055:054] On couches with linings of brocade shall they recline, and the fruit of the two gardens shall be within easy reach:

[055:055] Which then of the bounties of your Lord will ye twain deny? [RODWELL: Which, etc.]

[055:056] Therein shall be the damsels with retiring glances, whom nor man nor djinn hath touched before them:
