3:99 قل يااهل الكتاب لم تصدون عن سبيل الله من امن تبغونها عوجا وانتم شهداء وماالله بغافل عما تعملون

Sher Ali:

[003:099]  Say, `O People of the Book ! why hinder ye the believers from the path of ALLAH, seeking to make it crooked, while you are witnesses thereof ? And ALLAH is not unmindful of what you do.'

Shakir:

[003:099]  Say: O followers of the Book! why do you hinder him who believes from the way of Allah? You seek (to make) it crooked, while you are witness, and Allah is not heedless of what you do.

Pickthall:

[003:099]  Say: O People of the Scripture! Why drive ye back believers from the way of Allah, seeking to make it crooked, when ye are witnesses (to Allah's guidance) ? Allah is not unaware of what ye do.

Sale:

[003:099]  Say, O ye who have received the scriptures, why do ye keep back from the way of God, him who believeth? Ye seek to make it crooked, and yet are witnesses that it is the right: But God will not be unmindful of what ye do.

Muhammad Al-Hilali & Muhsin Khan:

[003:099]  Say: "O people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians)! Why do you stop those who have believed, from the Path of Allah, seeking to make it seem crooked, while you (yourselves) are witnesses (to Muhammad SAW as a Messenger of Allah and Islam (Allahs Religion, i.e. to worship none but Him Alone))? And Allah is not unaware of what you do."

Palmer:

[003:099]  Say, 'O people of the Book! why do ye turn from the way of God him who believes, craving to make it crooked, while ye are witnesses? But God is not careless of what ye do.'

[003:099]  Say: 'People of the Book, why do you bar from God's way the believer, desiring to make it crooked, yourselves being witnesses? God is not heedless of the things you do.'

[003:099]  Say, "O followers of the scripture, why do you repel from the path of GOD those who wish to believe, and seek to distort it, even though you are witnesses?" GOD is never unaware of anything you do.

Rodwell:

[003:099]  SAY: O people of the Book! why repel believers from the way of God? Ye fain would make it crooked, and yet ye are its witnesses! But God is not regardless of what ye do.
