Yusuf Ali: [111:001] Perish the hands of the Father of Flame! Perish he![111:002] No profit to him from all his wealth, and all his gains! [111:003] Burnt soon will he be in a Fire of Blazing Flame! [111:004] His wife shall carry the (crackling) wood - As fuel!- [111:005] A twisted rope of palm-leaf fibre round her (own) neck!
Dr. Munir Munshey (one of www.answering-christianity.com's authors): [111:001] May the hands of Abu Lahab _ (an uncle of the prophet) _ perish; and so may he![111:002] (All) his wealth, and everything he has earned failed him. [111:003] Soon, he will roast in the blazing fire! [111:004] And his woman, that tale-bearing malicious gossip, [111:005] Shall have a rope of palm fibers around her neck!

Sher Ali: [111:001] Perish the two hands of Abu Lahab, and perish he ![111:002] His wealth and what he has earned shall avail him naught, [111:003] Soon shall he burn in a flaming fire; [111:004] And his wife, too, bearer of slander, [111:005] Round her neck shall be a halter of twisted palm-fibre.
Shakir: [111:001] Perdition overtake both hands of Abu Lahab, and he will perish.[111:002] His wealth and what he earns will not avail him. [111:003] He shall soon burn in fire that flames, [111:004] And his wife, the bearer of fuel, [111:005] Upon her neck a halter of strongly twisted rope.
Pickthall: [111:001] The power of Abu Lahab will perish, and he will perish.[111:002] His wealth and gains will not exempt him. [111:003] He will be plunged in flaming Fire, [111:004] And his wife, the wood-carrier, [111:005] Will have upon her neck a halter of palm-fibre.
Sale: [111:001] The hands of Abu Laheb shall perish, and he shall perish.[111:002] His riches shall not profit him, neither that which he hath gained. [111:003] He shall go down to be burned into flaming fire; [111:004] and his wife also, bearing wood, [111:005] having on her neck a cord of twisted fibres of a palm-tree.
Muhammad Al-Hilali & Muhsin Khan: [111:001] Perish the two hands of Aboo Lahab (an uncle of the Prophet), and perish he![111:002] His wealth and his children (etc.) will not benefit him! [111:003] He will be burnt in a Fire of blazing flames! [111:004] And his wife too, who carries wood (thorns of Sadan which she used to put on the way of the Prophet (Peace be upon him) , or use to slander him) . [111:005] In her neck is a twisted rope of Masad (palm fibre).
Palmer: [111:001] Abu Lahebs two hands shall perish, and he shall perish![111:002] His wealth shall not avail him, nor what he has earned! [111:003] He shall broil in a fire that flames, [111:004] and his wife carrying faggots!- [111:005] on her neck a cord of palm fibres.
Arberry: [111:001] Perish the hands of Abu Lahab, and perish he![111:002] His wealth avails him not, neither what he has earned; [111:003] he shall roast at a flaming fire [111:004] and his wife, the carrier of the firewood, [111:005] upon her neck a rope of palm-fibre.
Khalifa: (why is he here?) [111:001] Condemned are the works of Abee Lahab, and he is condemned.[111:002] His money and whatever he has accomplished will never help him. [111:003] He has incurred the blazing Hell. [111:004] Also his wife, who led the persecution. [111:005] She will be (resurrected) with a rope of thorns around her neck.
Rodwell: [111:001] LET the hands of ABU LAHAB perish,and let himself perish![111:002] His wealth and his gains shall avail him not. [111:003] Burned shall he be at the fiery flame, [111:004] And his wife laden with fire wood, - [111:005] On her neck a rope of palm fibre.
