Dear Mr Abdallah and fellow brothers and sisters,

May God bless you. I am a Christian as Lord Jesus has spoken to me in many ways, showing me his amazing love for us all. I would like to address some of the points you have raised on the answering-christianity blog (http://www.answering-christianity.com/questions.htm) Firstly, I shall start with "1 - How can Jesus be GOD Almighty in the light of the following verses?". You outline some of the bible verses showing Jesus praying to God the Father, telling his disciples that "By myself I can do nothing" and many others. However, this is because Lord Jesus came to the earth as a man. Philippians 2:5-7 - '5 Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, 6 who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.' These verses show that Jesus came down to the earth as a bondservant without holding onto his Godly status. He was the 'Son of God' and the 'Son of Man' at the same time. He needed God's guidance as any other man does.

In contrast, after his resurrection, Jesus appeared to his disciples and said in Mathew 28:18 -18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me". This is because during the time he was on earth, he did the will of God the Father.

Secondly, you point out Luke 23:34 and say that "If Jesus was GOD, then why did he ask for GOD's Forgiveness in Luke 23:34?" Dear brother, you did not read the verse carefully. Luke 23:34 - 34 Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” And they divided up his clothes by casting lots. You can see that Jesus is not asking for the Father to forgive him but to forgive those to who crucified him.

Next, I shall cover the heading '3- The "Son" title also given to others beside Jesus'. For now, I shall address just one of the verses you chose to put on. This is a direct quote from your website -  "In Psalm 2:7 "....Jehovah had said onto me (David), thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee." David was called God's Begotten Son." The psalm is written by David but it is a prophecy about Jesus revealed to David by the Holy Spirit of Lord Jesus. The begotten Son is not David, he is Jesus. If you read the full psalm, its last verse says, '12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.' Clearly, this cannot be referring to David because God would never ask us to put our trust in David and he has never been a figure of worship. On the other hand, Jesus fulfills this criteria as he is the Son of God and he asks us to believe in Him - John 3:36 'Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.'

Lastly, you concluded that Jesus never claimed to be God. Mark 14:61-62 'But he remained silent and made no answer. Again the high priest asked him, “Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?” 62 And Jesus said, “I am".' In John 6:40, Jesus says, "For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.” Also, John 5:18 describes how the Jews seeked to kill Jesus as they were angry that Jesus 'was calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God'. Since Jesus is born of God, he is also God.

The love God has for us is so great! He showed us this through Jesus who died for our sins and offered himself as a perfect sacrifice to God so that all those who believe in him may have eternal life. If you would like to discuss anything, please e-mail to jesus.breadoflife@hotmail.co.uk.

May the grace of the living God be with you.

How can Jesus be GOD Almighty

The following does meet the requirements of the Koran :

It is possible for Jesus to be totally human if Jesus had a human body, a human mind and a human spirit, in other words,

the "trinity" of Jesus; body, mind and spirit could be totally human but that does not mean that

Jesus was never God because Jesus could have been God before He came to earth to be fully man in body, mind and spirit ( the "trinity" of body, mind and spirit on earth )

indeed this is the belief of most other religions, it revolves around manifestation, some view it as incarnations. among the concepts are God manifest into 1 form on earth,  God manifest into many forms on earth, .. etc

Thanks for your explanation, but do you have anything in the Koran that contradicts the statement made above ?
