Suggestion : What is Islam ?
« on: August 20, 2012, 04:12:33 PM »
Salamu Alaykum

I tried to answer it by using the Bible, and found the following :

Job 22:21
New International Version (©1984)
"Submit to God and be at peace with him; in this way prosperity will come to you.

Arabic : تعرّف به واسلم. بذلك ياتيك خير.

As you may have noticed the lie in the translation, nowhere does it say Ta'araf تعرّف  in english but it's there in the Arabic Bible.

Hebrew : הסכן נא עמו ושלם בהם תבואתך טובה׃
Hasken na immow USALM bahem tabowatka towbah

So Islam existed before prophet Muhammad (pbuh).

Links :
http://biblos.com/job/22-21.htm
http://bible.cc/job/22-21.htm
http://mlbible.com/job/22-21.htm

I googled the verse, apparently no one knows about it. (as far as i know)

Salam

As'salamu Alaikum dear brother Adnane,

This was a very good post from you.  I will insha'Allah add your points to the website in a new article and to the appropriate existing articles on the site.

Prophet Jesus, peace be upon him, also used the word "Muslim" in the New Testament in Luke 6:40: http://www.answering-christianity.com/luke6_40.htm.

Also in the Old Testament, the original believers were called "Salamays", which is what the Arabic word "Muslims" is.  This can be verified here: http://www.answering-christianity.com/walid_shoebat_islam_satan_rebuttal.htm.

May Allah Almighty bless you akhi (brother).  Ameen.

Take care,
Osama Abdallah

As'salamu Alaikum dear brother Adnane,

In the link that I gave you, the verse was a Hebrew translation of the Aramaic.  In the Hebrew, the word is "Mushlam".  However, in the Aramaic translations of the word "perfect" in the link that you gave us, http://www.peshitta.org/ (Click on "Tools" -> "Lexicon") , I've seen many New Testament references with words that have the root of "Islam" and "Muslim" such as:

OaMSHaMLaYaA              Colossians — 4:12
OaMSHaMLaYT'aA            Yaqub — 1:17     (What is Yaqub??)
MSHaMLYaA                     Yukhanan — 16:24, 17:13, Yaqub — 1:4, 1Yukhanan — 1:4, 4:18
MSHaMLaYT'aA                 Marqus — 4:28
MSHaMLaYaA                   Yukhanan — 16:24, 17:13, Yaqub — 1:4, 1Yukhanan — 1:4, 4:18
OaMSHaLMaN
OaMSHaLMaNaA              Hebrews — 9:11
......
SHaLMaA                         Matti — 5:9, Marqus — 12:38, Luqa — 1:29, 2:14, 5:36, 10:5, 10:6, 14:32, 19:38, 20:46, 24:36
† Yukhanan — 14:27, 14:27, 16:33, 20:19, 20:21, 20:26
† Acts — 9:31, 10:36, 18:18, 21:19, 21:7
† Yaqub — 3:17, 3:18
† Keepa — 3:11, 5:14
† Romans — 1:7, 5:1, 10:15, 12:18, 14:19, 16:5
† 1Corinthians — 16:21
† Galatians — 5:22, 6:16
† Ephesians — 1:2, 2:17, 6:23
† Colossians — 1:2, 4:18
† 2Thessalonians — 3:16, 3:17
† 2Timothy — 4:19
† Hebrews — 10:6, 10:8, 12:14

etc....

There are 10s of them.   I will further investigate these verses and words and get to the bottom of their meanings.  It seems to me that the English translators are hiding the overwhelming evidence from the New Testament that proves Islam on purpose.

Yaqub is James, Yaqub 1:17 = James 1:17.

Yeah, it's a bit suspicious

Say ye: "We believe in Allah, and the revelation given to us, and to Abraham, Isma'il, Isaac, Jacob, and the Tribes, and that given to Moses and Jesus, and that given to (all) prophets from their Lord: We make no difference between one and another of them: And we bow to Allah (in Islam)."

As'salamu Alaikum dear brothers and sisters,

Brother Kareem has added a valuable post regarding this topic here as well: http://www.answering-christianity.com/blog/index.php/topic,630.0.html.

I also started this thread with ample links at: http://www.answering-christianity.com/blog/index.php/topic,1022.msg3410.html#msg3410.

I will insha'Allah research this in depth and pull out as much reference and quotes I possibly could from the Bible and put it together in a big articles, insha'Allah.

Take care,
Osama Abdallah
