splitting of moon

Great discussion going on in various other threads , thanks to all.

I want to know the views of all our brothers on this blog  on Sura 54 verse 1 which mentions splitting of moon.

The search and study which i did on this verse points to me that Allah is mentioning of the end of world and not of as a event which happened .

 The verse clearly says in Arabic ' saat ' is near and ' saat ' in all its occurrence in the Quran points to the end of world.

Check my post. 'Sâ`ah" does indeed refer to the Hour (Day of Judgement), but it says the Hour has drawn nearer and the moon has already split as it was one of the signs of the Hour. Check the post I have posted. In addition, there are various sayings by the Messenger of Allah's (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) companions indicating that the moon had already split and it was this that the Noble Qur'an mentioned in the 54th Sûrah.

Quran says that the moon has already split . And what supports this is that there is a saying ( Hadith ) in the authorized of Bukhari ( Sahih Al-Bukhari ) And Muslim as well . It says that the pagans in Makkah asked the prophet all peace and blessings upon him for a miracle . So he pointed at the moon and it split with God's will . And even after this , the pagans kept saying that it's just sorcery . That's why God said "And if they see a sign they turn away and say passing sorcery"
