Question ?
« on: December 27, 2017, 03:40:03 PM »
Statements need debunking.
Questioning Islam is viewed the same as the sin of apostasy. To prevent someone from asking questions is to take away the basic rights of that individual. Asking questions is an inherent part of human nature. By quelling questions, Islam is destroying the reasoning power of humans.

Surah 5:101: “O ye who believe! Ask not questions about things which if made plain to you, may cause you trouble.” (Yusuf Ali)

Surah 5:102: “Some people before you did ask such questions, and on that account lost their faith.” (Yusuf Ali)

Sahih Bukhari, Volume 1, Book 3, Number 92:

Narrated Abu Musa: The Prophet was asked about things which he did not like, but when the questioners insisted, the Prophet got angry.

In contrast, the Bible encourages Christians to “Ask,” “Seek” and “Knock.”

Matthew 7:7-8: “Ask and it will be given to you. Seek and you will find. Knock and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives and everyone who seeks finds and to everyone who knocks it will be opened.”

Why did Allah and Muhammad discourage people from asking questions?
What is Islam trying to hide?
Is blind faith the way to Islam?
Why did Muhammad become angry at those who asked him questions?
Why were people warned by Allah not to ask questions?
How is that in Islam, questioning can lead to losing one’s faith?
Does not this prove that even the right answers can lead to losing one’s faith in Islam?

LLOOLL the Bible says anyone who questions Jesus will be killed

QURAN however says this

Surah 10:94

And if thou (Muhammad) art in doubt concerning that which We reveal unto thee, then question those who read the Scripture (that was) before thee. Verily the Truth from thy Lord hath come unto thee. So be not thou of the waverers.

Surah 16:43

And We sent not (as Our messengers) before thee other than men whom We inspired - Ask the followers of the Remembrance if ye know not

AND as for Quran 5:101-2

Some people questioned the Prophet (pbuh) only to mock him. "People before you" asked such questions and they were given answers. They did not believe the answers, so they became disbelievers because of that. This occurred because these rulings were made plain to them, yet they did not benefit at all from that, for they asked about these things not to gain guidance, but only to mock and defy.

The following Hadith states the reason for the revelation of that Ayah:

The Prophet (ﷺ) delivered a sermon the like of which I had never heard before. He said, "If you but knew what I know then you would have laughed little and wept much." On hearing that, the companions of the Prophet (ﷺ) covered their faces and the sound of their weeping was heard. A man said, "Who is my father?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "So-and-so." So this Verse was revealed: "Ask not about things which, if made plain to you, may cause you trouble." (5.101)

-Bukhari Book 65 Hadith 4621

Tafsir of Ibn Kathir also mentions the following incident to have happened before the revelation of that Ayah. This Hadith tells more about the context of that Ayah:

The Prophet (ﷺ) came out after the sun had declined and offered the Zuhr prayer (in congregation). After finishing it with Taslim, he stood on the pulpit and mentioned the Hour and mentioned there would happen great events before it. Then he said, "Whoever wants to ask me any question, may do so, for by Allah, you will not ask me about anything but I will inform you of its answer as long as I am at this place of mine." On this, the Ansar wept violently, and Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) kept on saying, "Ask Me! " Then a man got up and asked, ''Where will my entrance be, O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "(You will go to) the Fire." Then Abdullah bin Hudhaifa got up and asked, "Who is my father, O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)?" The Prophet (ﷺ) replied, "Your father is Hudhaifa." The Prophet (ﷺ) then kept on saying (angrily), "Ask me! Ask me!"Umar then knelt on his knees and said, "We have accepted Allah as our Lord and Islam as our religion and Muhammad as an Apostle." Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) became quiet when `Umar said that. Then Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "By Him in Whose Hand my life is, Paradise and Hell were displayed before me across this wall while I was praying, and I never saw such good and evil as I have seen today."

-Bukhari Book 96 Hadith 25

BUT THE BIBLE however says anyone who questions Jesus is to be killed in Luke 19:27

To the contrary, Islam encourage people to explore, know and use mind.

Regarding the type of questions prohibited this included 2 types of questions:
1- Matters of the unseen.
2- Matters of Ibadat that were left easy.
God has kept certain matters unknown to man, or He might have expressed certain matters in general terms. It does not harm people to leave such matters in the form God has left them. To question these at the time of the Prophet might have provided them with distressing answers, or might have overburdened both them and future generations. Hence, God tells the believers not to ask about certain matters which if revealed might be harmful. He also warns them that should they ask about these during the Prophet’s lifetime, when the Qur’ān was being revealed, for then they would have their answers, but these would impose on them obligations that God did not originally make binding: “Believers, do not ask about matters which, if made known to you, may cause you hardship. If you should ask about them while the Qur’ān is being revealed, they shall be made plain to you. God will forgive you these; for God is Much-Forgiving, Forbearing.” The verse carries a clear instruction not to inquire about matters which God has left out or stated without details in order to keep duties lighter, as in the case of pilgrimage.

Ibn Kathir writes, "This Ayah means, "If you ask about a matter after it is revealed, it shall be duly explained to you. Therefore, do not ask about matters that have not occurred yet, for they might become prohibited, due to your questions.... The Messenger of Allah was asked about a husband who finds another man with his wife; if he exposes the adultery, he will be exposing a major incident; if he is quiet about it, he will be quiet about a major matter. The Messenger of Allah did not like such questions.''

See the background, these verses were revealed when someone asked Prophet Muhammad s.a.w.w about his father, when he came to know, he started crying... It was not some intellectual discussion which was prohibited...

From English Tafseer

This verse forbids people to ask useless and unnecessary questions because some people used to put such questions to the Holy Prophet as were of no practical good for mundane affairs nor for spiritual up-lift. For example, once a certain person while sitting in a gathering asked him, "Who is my real father?'' Likewise, sometimes, some people put unnecessary questions concerning legal matters so as to get these defined, whereas they had been purposely kept undefined for the good of the people. Far example, when Hajj was made obligatory by a commandment in the Qur'an a certain person heard it, and instantly asked. "Has it been made obligatory to perform Hajj every year'" The Holy Prophet did not make any reply. The man repeated the question, but he again kept quiet. When the man put the question for the third time, he replied, "Woe to you! If I had said: 'Yes', the performance of Hajj every year would have become obligatory and people like you would have been unable to perform it and been guilty of disobedience. "

questioning too much on ordains from God will just make one feel its being a burden added to life. And when one feels its too much of a burden, he will change faith to a disbeliever for an easy life on earth.

And Matthew 7:12 sums about actions on receiving gifts; and not exactly about getting answers whens questioning the Law of God.
