A question on war

In the time of the prophet they used to have wars and at the end they will get booty.
"And know that out of all the booty that ye may acquire (in war), a fifth share is assigned to Allah,- and to the Messenger" 8:41
But then a few hadiths contradict this

But then it say's in authentic hadeeth
 The Prophet has prohibited the Believers from loot and plunder" (Bukhari, AbuDawood). His injunction is: "The loot is no more lawful than the carrion" (AbuDawood). AbuBakr Siddeeq used to tell soldiers on their way to war: "Do not destroy the villages and towns, do not spoil the cultivated fields and gardens, and do not slaughter the cattle."

The verse you mentioned read its context,it was revealed in a time,when the Quraysh stole all of the Muslim stuff,and the Muslims had to get it back as loot/Plunder.

I heard booty on the actual battlefield can be taken though am I right

This is the issue with us Muslims today,we care about what people say too much,we need to stop caring what people say,and read and see what our actual sources say,and research into our authentic hadith and the Quran.
