Akhi Karim, I did say above that striking on the face is not permitted in Islam.  Yes, Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, forbade it for all humans.

As to hitting with a tooth stick, that is complete nonsense.  I totally disagree with it.  I do however agree strongly with you that no bruising should be done.

thats like questioning why the Abrahaimic God created woman second to after creating man, why not creating both at same time to show equality. Why God decided to have woman bearing the hardship of delivering babies, where's the equalities to that of a man.
