Assalamu alaikum,
I just had a small question regarding the mountain stabilization and the quran. It says in 16:15,"And He has set firm mountains in the earth so it would not sway (TAMEED) with you....(The Noble Quran, 16:15)"
When the quran says this, what does sway mean? Cus i saw an anti islamist claim that this shows that the earth is flat in the quran, and he made the example, inagine if the earth was flat and everyone would atand on one side of the flat earth. The earth would sway cus 1 place is way heavier, and the quran says here that the mountains which are all over the earth prevent this from happeing for they have been placed to prevent such swaying to happen.
So to conclude on my questions. 1. What is meant when the quran says: lest it should sway with you. What is meant by swaying of the earth if the earth is a sphere. 2. How do i answer the false claim that this proves the quran promotes a flat earth that says if there were no mountains on the flat earth it would be swaying because of the different weight distributed over the earth, but it doesnt sway because mountains are standing firm all across the earth
