« on: January 02, 2017, 12:38:18 PM »
Assalamun Alaikum Dear Brothers

Does the Quran contain any reference to Dark Matter? There were few articles online but weren't very satisfactory. So can anyone in this forum give me quranic references to dark Matter.

Thank You

Wa Alaikum As'salam dear brother Mohamed,

Yes, the Glorious Quran spoke DIRECTLY about dark matter.  Allah Almighty referenced it in:

1-  The Cosmic Web.  The Universe is made of complex clusters of cosmic webs that are made from dark matter and other material:

[051:007]  By the Heaven with its ذات  Web (i.e. Cosmic Web), الحبك

‏51:7 والسماء ذات الحبك

Dear brother Osama

Is this article valid
http://www.speed-light.info/miracles_of_quran/seven_heavens.htm

It speaks of Dark Matter,  Extra Dimensions and parallel universe.
I feel that it's not valid since it says that the superimposed heavens are the extra dimensions of modern physics and later concludes that the seven heavens are a parallel universe.  According to modern Science extra dimensions and parallel universe are two different things.
What is your opinion on this?

Thank you
Mohamed Saif

Assalamun Alaikum dear brother

Also I forgot to add that in modern physics according to super string theory we live in a  10 dimensional Universe. The first four are length, width, height and time + 6 extra spatial dimension. So there is altogether a total of 10. So if the 6 extra spatial dimensions are equal to the 6 remaining heavens, then what about the lowest heaven with lights? And shaggy about the first four dimensions of modern physics?  Is the lowest heaven equal to the first four dimensions?

Wa Alaikum As'salam dear brother Mohamed,

We do not know that Heavens are dimensions.  This is part of the unseen and unknown world.  Allah Almighty Said in the Glorious Quran:

"They ask thee concerning the Spirit (of inspiration). Say: "The Spirit (cometh) by command of my Lord: of knowledge it is only a little that is communicated to you, (O men!)"  (The Noble Quran, 17:85)"

I only responded to your question about Dark Matter, since scientists claim that the Universe is made of CLUSTERS OF WEBS OF DARK MATTER.  And Allah Almighty called the Universe the Universe of Webs (i.e., Cosmic Webs).

Also, it is worth noting that the term "Dark Matter" is a modern day one.  Not that the matter itself is dark in color.  The reason it was named DARK is because much of it remains unknown to us.

Take care,
Osama Abdallah
