Challenge by someone about DAHAHA
« on: November 08, 2016, 09:40:32 AM »
So on youtube, i found someone asking this "I would be interested in knowing if you can find a single example of DAHAHA being used in classical Arabic literature in the form of a verb meaning "to make shaped like an egg"."

There actually is an example from Classical Arabic. There's a quote from Ibn Al Rumi (born a hundred years after the prophet died) where he uses the example of a baker molds the dough like an egg or something round. If you click on one of my earlier posts regarding the earth on my profile you will find one of the brothers posted it.  Then again i think the egg thing was considered weak. Like even brother Osama relied more on the implication of a roundness and provided a hadith from the Prophet himself.

Cause any infidel can claim (like answering-islam did on wikipedia) that an ostrich egg is prolate and not oblate like the earth.

Dr. Yasir Qadhi said: To claim that the Quran preaches that the world is flat is an outrageous claim. In fact there is unanimous consensus amongst medieval Muslim scholars to the contrary. Ibn Hazm (d. 1064 CE), wrote over a thousand years ago in his book al-Fisal, "I do not know of a single scholar worth the title of scholar who claims other than that the earth is round. Indeed the evidences in the Quran and Sunnah are numerous to this effect" [al-Fisal, v. 2 p. 78].

Ibn Taymiyya (d. 1328 CE), someone who is typically accused of literalism, wrote that there is unanimous consensus of all the scholars of Islam that the world is round, and that reality and perception also proves this, for, as he writes, it is well known that the Sun sets on different peoples at different times, and does not set on the whole world at the same time. In fact, writes Ibn Taymiyya, it is truly an ignorant person who claims that the earth is not round. [Majmu al-Fatawa, v. 6, p. 586]. And there are many others scholars, such as al-Razi, who wrote on this subject, and I do not know of any medieval scholar who held another view.

All of this shows the necessity of gaining Islamic knowledge from reputable sources, and from verifying anything you read from the people of knowledge. (from his facebook)

In addition, the Qur'an never said the Earth has four corners, nor ends or even sides. Therefore, there is no implication of it being flat like a paper.

I think the surah which goes (Yukawwiro al-layli 'ala al nahar) implies a spherical shape of the earth.

Correct me if I'm wrong. I hope this may have helped you.

As'salamu Alaikum dear brothers,

Again and again, Dahaha does not mean "make it like an egg" here.  It means expanded spherically.  I even provided Hadiths and other authentic sayings and examples that proved this.  I don't know why you guys continue to IMPOSE this shallow translation when I provided ample Arabic definitions that prove the word to mean:

1-  Expanded spherically.
2-  Is spherical.
3-  Is rolling.
4-  Is rotating around itself.

We even have a stupid salafi made a video and said in it that if should've been KAL-UDHI in order for Allah Almighty to mean it "like an egg".  The doofus salafi is wrong, because Dahaha can still mean "like an egg", and I've given examples that prove this also.  But that is not what it means here.  You guys keep falling into the traps of the infidels which enable them to trick you and to undermine the Glorious Quran's Miracle.  Just forget the stupid disbelievers who arrognatly and stubbornly disbelieve in the Miracles of Allah Almighty, and strive hard to fight them.  Pay attention to the detailed definitions and examples that I gave at, which include Hadiths and other sayings:

ONCE AGAIN, forget the translation of "egg".  The Noble Word, DAHAHA, does not mean egg here.

Take care,
Osama Abdallah

As'salamu Alaikum dear brother Omar,

Just about all translators of the Glorious Quran translated the Noble Word DAHAHA to "spread", "extend", "expand" in Noble Verse 79:30:

www.answering-christianity.com/cgi-bin/quran/quran_search1.cgi?search_text=79%3A30-32&B1=Search

And given the other definitions of the Noble Word that mean:

1-  Is spherical / round.
2-  Is rolling.
3-  Is rotating around itself.

Then there is no doubt that the EXPANDING of the earth was done spherically.  And this is further supported in the two Noble Verses that follow Noble Verse 79:30:

[079:030]  And the earth, along with it, HE has spread forth.
[079:031]  HE has produced therefrom its water and its pasture,
[079:032]  And the mountains HE made them firm.

The vast oceans indeed didn't form until the earth expanded:

And mountains didn't form and become fixed until the earth's plate tectonics began to overlap and press on each other.  I have covered all of this in great details at:

You need to keep in mind that the people of old didn't know that the earth was spherical, and hadn't thought about the concept.  But yet, the Glorious Quran Miraculously covered this concept.  And no one can deny that the word DAHAHA means spherical, and expanded spherically.

Those who deny it usually give you stone-age interpretations.  But they would never dare to take you on using dictionary against dictionary, because they know they'd get blown away easily, as I've demonstrated amply from my dictionaries in the links above.

But Prophet Muhammad didn't interpret them like this:

I get this lame argument a lot.  But Prophet Muhammad himself admitted, and Allah Almighty thoroughly confirmed that the Prophet couldn't interpret much of the Glorious Quran:

www.answering-christianity.com/prophet_muhammad_did_not_know_everything_about_quran.htm

So this lame argument that if it's not in the Hadiths (sayings) of the Prophet, then we don't accept it fails.  You yourself are familiar with this question, dear brother Omar, because you started its thread, and also have contributed to answering it.

Take care,
Osama Abdallah

btw i only asked because someone said this as a response to the article  "But that is beside the point. The whole argument of that article is that daha DOES mean (made spherical), and it argues that by omitting all of the data in the same dictionaries that say otherwise. That's a very dishonest tactic."

So sorry for the question.

No need to apologize my dear brother.  Now, if you notice the salafi, he did concede that DAHA does indeed mean expanded it spherically.  And if you look at the ample definitions that I gave in the links below, from the dictionaries, you'll see that it also means:

1-  Being round, spherical.
2-  To roll.
3-  To spread.
4-  To expand.
5-  To push.
6-  To rotate around itself.
7-  Being stocky and bulged.

Other meanings that I gave also:

1-  It is the best in its group.  Example DAHYA AL-KALBI (one of the Prophet's companions).  His first name means LEADER, BEST OF THE GROUP, and it is derived from DAHA.

2-  Encompassing and has plenty - DOHA (Qatar's capital) is also derived from DAHA, and it means that.

The whole argument?

My whole argument isn't just about DAHAHA.  There are several other Noble Words that I gave thorough analysis on that speak about the earth's movement in space.  Have you read my article, akhi Omar, you would've caught this yourself, and saved me and you the time wasting.

I am being dishonest??

My dear brother, it is not the salafie prostitutes and their lies that bother me.  They are nothing to me.  They are a cult of satan that is notorious in cowardice, hypocrisy and lies.  I've covered this in great details in the following link:

www.answering-christianity.com/ac11.htm#links

It is you guys' failure to read my material thoroughly before you decide to question it is what bothers me.  I ask all Muslims reading to please read first before you take these salafi liars for granted.  They are full of lies and hate.  Push them enough, and they'll apostatize you.  They are ridiculous and insecure, because they know they're full of BS.

Take care,
Osama Abdallah
