The Word Injeel is derived from the Aramaic "Awon-Galee-Yoon", no from greek.

Salam Aleikum. Some christians claim that the Quran contradicts itself when it says that the revelation was given to the prophets in the languages of their peoples; so, if the people of Jesus spoke aramaic, the book should be in Aramaic; but (according to them) Injeel is derived from Evangelion (the greek word for Gospel) So, the book should be in greek. But think, the title of a thing does not say the language of this; for example, many stores in many places of the world use the english to write the name of their stores. Now, in aramaic there is a word, this is: awon-Galee-Yoon; this word means: " He reveals". This is a correct name: "The revelation of HIM". Now, if the word is derived from aramaic there is not any problem; but the refutation of the christians is that the word Awon-Galee-Yoon is a simple transliteration from the greek: Evangelion. What do you opine? Is there a refutation for this? Now, look A CHRISTIAN PAGE which say that Awon-Galee-Yoon is Aramaic, and means: He reveals. (Look at the footnotes, the first):

Wa Alaikum As'salam dear brothers Sharif and Submit,

I believe that the Injeel in Arabic did exist in Arabia during Prophet Muhammad's days, peace be upon him.  As you see in the link that I gave you, not only 7 Roman emperors burned early Chrisitans' books by the wholesale, but Arabic also was a widely spoken language in Palestine, and the Believers' titles there were Mushlems (Muslims).  We also know from the Glorious Quran that this is exactly also what their title was.  So it is quite possible that Arabic Injil (injeel) and also Torah did exist in Arabia during Prophet Muhammad's days, and was all burned by the Jews and Christians after their sound defeats from the Muslims.

If the infidels corrupted their own books and added all sorts of lies in them, and replaced Words with false words to change the meanings of the verses, can any reasonable person find this to be improbable to be done by them?

You see this is the problem with altered scriptures.  They're not worth a spit!  They can always be discarded and burned by their followers when the time calls for it.  They're not Holy Scriptures, even if the infidels insist on calling them as such.  They know they're not holy at all, and therefore, they can do whatever they feel necessary with them, such as in this case burning the books that clearly mention Prophet Muhammad by the name.

Caliph Uthman also did the same thing with our false qurans.  He burned them.  But the difference between our Holy Book, the Divine Glorious Quran, and every other book on this planet is that It is Preserved and Protected by Allah Almighty as Allah Almighty Promised.  We see this clearly and indisputably confirmed and thoroughly demonstrated with the Glorious Quran's Numerical and Scientific Miracles.  The reader can visit:

Here is an example that shows that Allah Almighty's Divine Truth is spread out throughout their false and corrupt scriptures, and isn't all collected in ONE TRUE SCRIPTURE, as we Muslims have with the Glorious Quran.  Take this Noble Verse as an example:

[005:032]  On that account: We ordained for the Children of Israel that if any one slew a person - unless it be for murder or for spreading mischief in the land - it would be as if he slew the whole people: and if any one saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of the whole people. Then although there came to them Our apostles with clear signs, yet, even after that, many of them continued to commit excesses in the land.

This Law in this Noble Verse exists in the Jewish Talmud, in Mishnah Sanhedrin 4:5 and the Babylonian Jewish Talmud, in Tractate Sanhedrin 37a.  Of course, The Talmud has it from Original Divine Scriptures, which are lost today.  The Glorious Quran came to preserve this Law by Allah Almighty's Will.  This is why we say whatever agrees with the Glorious Quran from Hadiths and Jews' and Christians scriptures is closest o the Truth, and what disagrees is man-made falsehood.
