Places of Worship at Graves
« on: August 21, 2014, 07:39:29 AM »
Quote
Narrated `Aisha and `Abdullah bin `Abbas:
When the last moment of the life of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) came he started putting his 'Khamisa' on his face and when he felt hot and short of breath he took it off his face and said, "May Allah curse the Jews and Christians for they built the places of worship at the graves of their Prophets." The Prophet (ﷺ) was warning (Muslims) of what those had done. Sahih Bukhari : Vol. 1, Book 8, Hadith 427

So how come the grave of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) is inside his mosque in Madeenah?.

As'salamu Alaikum dear brothers,

Thank you brother ThatMuslimGuy for the pdf file.  Since the link is unreliable and pdf file will vanish from this link in the future, I decided to upload the pdf file to the website.  I also just made an update on the website.  The pdf file can now also be found at:

And I linked in in the Islam Section on the website at:

and said, "May Allah curse the Jews and Christians for they built the places of worship at the graves of their Prophets."

That's a lie I'm afraid. Our Prophet never cursed anyone, even at the toughest of times where he was pelted at by bricks and stones, when he would walk down the streets of the unbelievers, who would throw their trash at him through their windows every time they saw him walking, no, instead, he prayed for their guidance, and that is why the first chapter of our Qur'an is in fact, a prayer for guidance and mercy towards all.

And there's your answer too, the answer to why the hadith contradicts us building the Prophet's grave inside the mosque that is.

Oh and by the way, that graves going down, and this time, no leader will have the courage to stand against the act like that Turkish guy did last time. I would check the date of that hadith. Most of the hadith that are quoted nowadays were written centuries after the prophet's death.

We are going to end up erasing ourselves. We destroy all our historical sites, corrupt our texts by fabrications, and mistranslate our holy book all too often. As for our Kaabah, it's now the center of a tourist attraction surrounded by sights of the balconies of the most luxurious five star hotels, because nothing says "Equality" like getting a modest accomodation with free Wifi, courtesy of STC, to be offered to any "pilgrims"--err, tourists, all around Masjid al Haram. There's already that clocktower that shadows the Kaabah. And they find something as simple as a grave blasphemous. We are erasing our history and our culture too.
