The Question on Bees
« on: May 13, 2014, 12:47:59 AM »
Assalamualaikum warahmatullahiwabarakatu.

To my dearest muslim brother, I am writing this in regard to one sacrosanct verse of Allah subhanAllah taala 16:69.

"Then eat from all the fruits and follow the ways of your Lord laid down [for you]." There emerges from their bellies a drink, varying in colors, in which there is healing for people. Indeed in that is a sign for a people who give thought."

Sahih International. An-Nahl 16:69

Recently, I was having a severe discussion or dispute with an atheist sister in regard of evolution. Being fed up with me, she began to make various preposterous allegation about Quran and one of the verse she mentioned is this verse. She said that the bees feed on nectar and flower, not fruits. I was wondering how far right she is when I checked the the translation of the Quran on this verse, and also searching for the meaning of the words used, two of them, which are Ithamarats and Kulli.

I put forward this question to one of the author of Answering Christianity, Osama Abdullah.

Alhamdulillah, he helped me find a satisfactory answer to my doubts.

The contemporary answer is here : http://www.answering-christianity.com/what_do_bees_eat.htm.

InsyaAllah, we all may be Guided by Allah, the absolute eternal. Also special thanks to brother Osama for his help, and other muslim brother who bothered themselves sacrificing whatever possession they have for the sake of this Noble Deen.
