« on: December 04, 2012, 03:47:10 PM »

Question 2. Are beliefs such as fits being possessed by jinn and the evil eye backed up in Quran and/or hadiths?

Question 3. Why doesnt Surah Taubah begin with Bismillah?

Quesion 4. Whats the difference between Sunnis and Sufis?

As-Salamu `Alaykum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh akhi,
All praises and thanks are due to Allah, Lord of the Universe, and much peace and many blessings be upon His Noble Prophet, Muhammad صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم, and his family and friends altogether.
Prophet Muhammad (may Almighty Allah bless him and grant him peace) said that the eye is true.
Suratut-Tawbah does not start with Bismillahir-Rahmanir-Raheem mainly because of the content of the Surah, in which Almighty Allah orders the believers [of the time of Prophet Muhammad (may Almighty Allah bless him and grant him peace)] to fight the disbelievers. This does not mean that Islam was spread by the sword by the way.

Peace
Ramzi, if u r talking about verse 9: 5, or 9: 29, u should know that verses 7-11 provide clear proof that those are aimed at the treaty breakers.

btw, i found the hadith about the diesease and the cure

Jabir reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying:
There is a remedy for every malady, and when the remedy is applied to the disease it is cured with the permission of Allah, the Exalted and Glorious.
