As-Salamu `Alaykum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh brothers and sisters in Islam,
I've heard by Christians that this gospel is the most accurate gospel but it is banned because it corresponds more to Islamic beliefs than to present-day Christianity. However, it is believed that this gospell did experience a small number of fabrications, but is the most accurate and least fabricated of all canonical gospels. It is the Gospel of Saint Barnabas (peace and blessings be upon him). For more information on this gospel, see http://barnabas.net/.

Anyway, the 97th chapter of this gospel is shocking as it denies that Prophet Jesus (peace and blessings be upon him) is God or a son of God and mentions the Beloved Messenger of Allah (may Almighty Allah bless him and grant him peace) by name. This gospel also denies the crucifixion of Prophet Jesus (peace and blessigns be upon him) and states that he was raised up by God like Prophet Elijah (peace and blessings be upon him) in 2 Kings. When I heard about this gospel being the most accurate but being banned at the same time from a Christian, I was eager to find out why. I swear to God I expected none of this when I researched about this gospel.

The 97th chapter reads, "`Unworthy though I am to untie his hosen, I have received grace and mercy from God to see him.'

Then answered the priest, with the governor and the king, saying: `Distress not thyself, O Jesus, holy one of God, because in our time shall not this sedition be any more, seeing that we will write to the sacred Roman senate in such wise that by imperial decree none shall any more call thee God or son of God.'

Then said Jesus: `With your words I am not consoled, because where ye hope for light darkness shall come; but my consolation is in the coming of the messenger, who shall destroy every false opinion of me, and his faith shall spread and shall take hold of the whole world, for so hath God promised to Abraham our father. And that which giveth me consolation is that his faith shall have no end, but shall be kept inviolate by God.'

The priest answered: `After the coming of the messenger of God shall other prophets come?'

Jesus answered: `There shall not come after him true prophets sent by God, but there shall come a great number of false prophets, whereat I sorrow. For Satan shall raise them up by the just judgement of God, and they shall hide themselves under the pretext of my gospel.'

Herod answered: `How is it a just judgement of God that such impious men should come?'

Jesus answered: `It is just that he who will not believe in the truth to his salvation should believe in a lie to his damnation. Wherefore I say unto you, that the world hath ever despise the true prophets and loved the false, as can be seen in the time of Michaiah and Jeremiah. For every like loveth his like.'

Then said the priest: `How shall the Messiah be called, and what sign shall reveal his coming?'

Jesus answered: `The name of the Messiah is admirable, for God himself gave him the name when he had created his soul, and placed it in a celestial splendour. God said: "Wait Mohammed; for thy sake I will to create paradise, the world, and a great multitude of creatures, whereof I make thee a present, insomuch that whoso bless thee shall be blessed, and whoso shall curse thee shall be accursed. When I shall send thee into the world I shall send thee as my messenger of salvation, and thy word shall be true, insomuch that heaven and earth shall fail, but thy faith shall never fail." Mohammed is his blessed name.'

Then the crowd lifted up their voices, saying: `O God, send us thy messenger: O Mohammed, come quickly for the salvation of the world!'"
[Barnabas 97]

Take care guys, and may Allah, the Almighty and Sublime, make us all benefit from this post and all other authentic and good posts about His religion on this and all other websites. Allahumma Ameen. :D

That gospel contradicts Qur'an.

Isn't Prophet Jesus (peace and blessings be upon him) the Messiah in the Noble Qur'an too?
In addition, notice how I said that it is agreed that this gospel did undergo some fabrications but not as much as the other canonical gospels did. FF Bruce, a former Christian and a Bible scholar states in all his books that they do not have a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy of any of the original manuscripts of the Bible. That's five times the word 'copy' was used, by the way. :P

Final Overture & muzi123, you both claim that the Gospel of barnabas is against The Noble Quran.

No it is not against The Quran

Please read this:

32 Reasons why the Gospel Of Barnabas is not a 16th Century Forgery written by Muslims

http://invitationtotruth.wordpress.com/2008/01/17/32-reasons-for-gospel-of-barnabas/

BUT I say to you the truth about this gospel, it is a fabrication (not I claim that, but Yusuf Estes).
You can read it, but it is waste of time!
Today all the books of bible are man-made, corrupted and changed.
Why to waste our time with reading corrupted and man-made books, while we have The Glorious Quran The Word of God, what is totally preserved.

Thing about it! :)
