question to osama abdallah
« on: August 21, 2017, 10:35:20 AM »
assalamu alaikum,

you have made articles saying that muhammad never split the moon (i am still researching this subjest, was it split, was there a solar eclipse etc.) but you said that muhammad didnt split the moon as per quran 17:59, but bassam refuted the idea that muhammad couldnt do miracles outside of only the quran by the follloiwng explanation: Surah 17:59

Naught prevented Us from sending the signs (bial-ayati) but that the ancients cried lies to them; and We brought Thamood the She-camel visible, but they did her wrong. And We do not send the signs, except to frighten.

Again from sending the signs that the Quraysh specifically asked for just like how Thamud specifically asked for the she camel.  (Tafsir of Qurtubi, Source: Online) God did not send it down to them as a mercy. Because God knows that if He sent the signs they asked for down to them they would still disbelieve. If God sent it down to them and they still disbelieved then He would have no choice but to destroy them. So it was for their own good.

Again the verse does not state that no signs have ever been sent down, just the ones that they specifically asked for.
also se: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vAeJq6OTddA

and qurasn 3:86 seems to saay that muhammad did do miracles: How shall Allah guide a people who disbelieved after their belief and had witnessed that the Messenger is true and clear signs had come to them? And Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.

and we have many ahadith claiming that muhammad did miracles,

Sahih Bukhari Volume 2, Book 13, Number 55:
Narrated Anas bin Malik:

Once in the lifetime of the Prophet (p.b.u.h) the people were afflicted with drought (famine). While the Prophet was delivering the Khutba on a Friday, a Bedouin stood up and said, "O, Allah's Apostle! Our possessions are being destroyed and the children are hungry; Please invoke Allah (for rain)". So the Prophet raised his hands. At that time there was not a trace of cloud in the sky. By Him in Whose Hands my soul is as soon as he lowered his hands, clouds gathered like mountains, and before he got down from the pulpit, I saw the rain falling on the beard of the Prophet. It rained that day, the next day, the third day, the fourth day till the next Friday. The same Bedouin or another man stood up and said, "O Allah's Apostle! The houses have collapsed, our possessions and livestock have been drowned; Please invoke Allah (to protect us)". So the Prophet I raised both his hands and said, "O Allah! Round about us and not on us". So, in whatever direction he pointed with his hands, the clouds dispersed and cleared away, and Medina's (sky) became clear as a hole in between the clouds. The valley of Qanat remained flooded, for one month, none came from outside but talked about the abundant rain.

From ‘Ibn Kathirs The Life of the Prophet Muhammad, Al-sira Al-Nabawiyya, volume 2’ :

HOW THE PROPHET (SAAS) REPLACED QATADA’S EYE:

Al-Bayhaqi stated, in the Dalail (The Signs), “Abu Sad al-Malini informed us quoting Abu Ahmed b. Adi, quoting Abu Yala, quoting Yahya al-Himmant, quoting Abd al-Aziz b. Sulayman b. al-Ghasil, from Asim b. Umar b. Qatada, from his father, from his grandfather Qatada b. al-Numan, that his eye was wounded at Badr and that its pupil came down on his cheekbone. They were about to slice it off, but asked the Messenger of God (SAAS) who said they should not do this. He then said a prayer for him, covering his cheek with his palm. And later you could not tell which of his eyes had been struck!”

According to one account, this became the better eye.

An account came down to us from the Commander of the Believers, Umar b. Abd al- Aziz that when he was told this account by Asim b. Umar b. Qatada, he also recited:

“I am the son of him on whose cheek his eye descended,
which was replaced so well by the hand of the Chosen-One.”

Upon hearing this, Umar b. Abd al-Aziz, God bless him, quoted very appropriately the verse of Umayya b. Abd al-Salt of Ibn Dhu Yazin,

“These fine qualities are not like two bowls with milk
merely whitening the water that soon becomes urine.” (Pg 298)

bukhari 2942: That he heard the Prophet (ﷺ) on the day (of the battle) of Khaibar saying, "I will give the flag to a person at whose hands Allah will grant victory." So, the companions of the Prophet (ﷺ) got up, wishing eagerly to see to whom the flag will be given, and everyone of them wished to be given the flag. But the Prophet asked for `Ali. Someone informed him that he was suffering from eye-trouble. So, he ordered them to bring `Ali in front of him. Then the Prophet (ﷺ) spat in his eyes and his eyes were cured immediately as if he had never any eye-trouble. `Ali said, "We will fight with them (i.e. infidels) till they become like us (i.e. Muslims)." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Be patient, till you face them and invite them to Islam and inform them of what Allah has enjoined upon them. By Allah! If a single person embraces Islam at your hands (i.e. through you), that will be better for you than the red camels.

the miracle of people sinking with their horses in the sand:  Sahih al-Bukhari 3908, Sahih Muslim 2009 b , 2009 c etc.

muhammad invoked a blessing on anas : Sahih Muslim 2481 b: Invoke blessings of Allah upon him. Thereupon he (the Holy Prophet) said: O Allah, make an increase in his wealth, and progeny. Anas said: By Allah, my fortune is huge and my children, and grand-children are now more than one hundred.

so muhammad invoked a blessing and it happened

bukhari 216 allah allowed him to hear the torment of the grave

Volume 4, Book 56, Number 779:

Narrated 'Abdullah:

We used to consider miracles as Allah's Blessings, but you people consider them to be a warning. Once we were with Allah's Apostle on a journey, and we ran short of water. He said, "Bring the water remaining with you." The people brought a utensil containing a little water. He placed his hand in it and said, "Come to the blessed water, and the Blessing is from Allah." I saw the water flowing from among the fingers of Allah's Apostle , and no doubt, we heard the meal glorifying Allah, when it was being eaten (by him).

i cn go on but osama do you reject all of these because of the verse 17:59

also on the splitting of the moon

there are so many ahadith on it, how can you reject it, see all hadith: https://sunnah.com/search/?q=moon+split

Wa Alaikum As'salam dear brother Hani,

Everything is possible, akhi.  But I don't take narrations outside the Glorious Quran to be worthy of any trust, or to be solid proofs on the level of the Quran, especially when:

1-  The world did not witness the moon splitting.  Not only that, but only very few people witnessed it:

www.answering-christianity.com/moon_split.htm

This by itself makes the claim ridiculous!  Half the earth's population witnesses the moon every evening and every night and every early morning.

2-  The narrations about the other Miracles are not from the Glorious Quran, and their narrations are weak.

I do not need these physical Miracles.  Muhammad is not a True Prophet because he cured Qatada's eye.  I would never accept these narrations as undeniable evidence, especially when their chains are all weak.  If Islam was all about that type of narration, like the Bible, then I would've been today an agnostic person.  Only the Glorious Quran is the undeniable evidence.

The Glorious Quran is the Miracle.  Islam's Miracle isn't about splitting the sea in half with a stick, or turning a stick into a live snake like Moses, peace be upon him, did.  These are Miracles that were far from being for all times, because they could not be proven.  They require blind faith today.  I believe in them because they're in the Glorious Quran.  The Glorious Quran's Miracle is the Glorious Quran Itself, in Its Textual Miracles, and Scientific and Numerical Miracles.

The Glorious Quran's Miracles:

And to the infidels of the advanced age today, I say to them that only the Glorious Quran can take you HEAD ON in your own game and thoroughly defeat you with logic and ample scientific and numerical proofs.  That's the Holy Quran.  It was made for us today!  No other book comes anywhere near that.  Plain and simple.  Again, visit:

I was referring to the weak and fabricated texts on the Prophet, and not the merits and Miracles of the Prophet himself.  This was the context, brother.  In other words, the text might say:

"Prophet Muhammad spoke with his donkey, Yafoor, and the donkey said that he is from best of the donkies, because all of his family tree had Prophets sit on them."

There is actually a text that says this.  I don't believe in these stories.  They are BS and fabrications.  This is what I meant to say.  Jazaka Allah Khayr for helping me clarify it.  Ameen.

Take care,

Salam

Osama you said the story is ridiculous cus only so many people witnessed it, and that you dont trust 100% things outside of the quran. So how do you deal with the verse in the quran which says the earth was split?

Quran 54:1 1. The Hour has drawn near, and the moon has been cleft asunder ( sahih international translates it as: moon has split, and others like pickthall, muhsin khan say cleft asunder )

2. But if they see a Sign, they turn away, and say, "This is (but) transient magic."

3. They reject (the warning) and follow their (own) lusts but every matter has its appointed time.

4. There have already come to them Recitals wherein there is (enough) to check (them),

5. Mature wisdom;- but (the preaching of) Warners profits them not.

6. Therefore, (O Prophet,) turn away from them. The Day that the Caller will call (them) to a terrible affair,

7. They will come forth,- their eyes humbled - from (their) graves, (torpid) like locusts scattered abroad,

8. Hastening, with eyes transfixed, towards the Caller!- "Hard is this Day!", the Unbelievers will say.

9. Before them the People of Noah rejected (their apostle): they rejected Our servant, and said, "Here is one possessed!", and he was driven out.

10. Then he called on his Lord: "I am one overcome: do Thou then help (me)!"

These verses seem to clesrly indiacte that the moon was solit in the time of muhammad sqws, no?

As'salamu Alaikum dear brother Hani,

The Noble Verse is speaking about the future.  Just like the Noble Verses that speak about the sun will be reduced to a condensed ball (KUWWIRAT), and when the stars' light goes off (INKADARAT), etc...

The Noble Verses regarding the moon start with "The Hour has drawn near...".  So it is a future event like the others like it in the Glorious Quran.

I would have no problem accepting that the moon was indeed split due to a Miracle from Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him.  But since the moon is always witnessed by 1/2 of the earth's population at any given moment, then we can't say it was split when there are no accounts for it.  And even in Mecca, the accounts are pathetically small.  And most, if not all, of the narrations that speak about the moon split speak in the third person, which means that they were not even eye witnesses.

I don't accept weak and pathetic arguments and sources like this, brother.  I am not a dumb and blind follower.  Religions are so full of garbage.  Islam's hadiths and stories were plagued with similar garbage.  Only the Holy Quran is 100% perfect and pure.  The rest are lies until proven otherwise.  And I am not seeing any evidence for the moon split story.

The chained dajjal story:

Same goes with the dajjal was found on an island chained story.  Weak narrations and full of lies.  All of the Middle East's islands were discovered.  Not one of them has a chained dajjal in it.  And even if we assume that the bediouns were able to travel the oceans and seas of the world, which would've been impossible back then, then still we have not found any chained dajjal on any of the world's islands!  So am I supposed to just believe in this garbage?  Just say we hear and we obey like the satanic cultists command the Muslims?

You have to be a True Believer when defending the Glorious Quran, and on the flip side, you must argue like an agnostic when garbage is being fed to you as food for thought by religionists.  All of the world's religions' texts (Islam included) have TONS OF CRAP in them.  They're all lies until proven otherwise.

Take care,
Osama Abdallah
