Question on allah swt
« on: August 07, 2017, 01:09:03 AM »
Assalamu alaikum,

I had a question. Does allah have to be merciful or does he choose to be merciful. Could allah be unmerciful and unjust? If yes it defeats the name of al rahman the merciful and the just, and it defeats that he is god for god is always just. But if we say no, then god cant do anything.

1. So does allah have to be merciful or does he chopse to be
2. Can god not be merciful and be unjust

Jazakallah khair

If its yes It doesnt defeat the name of the merciful and Just, first of all,why does it defeat the name of Al Rahman and the just?
Have you forgotten Allah SWT CHOOSES to be merciful as he says in the Quran?

Allah chooses to merciful and Just, but

Allah can be unmerciful and unjust, but that would defeat his own purpose,to be the most merciful most Just,so he stays Merciful and Just.

Being someone, and able to do doing something are two different phenomena.

God can do anything, but If He is Merciful and just, everything would reflect These qualities as well.It is His choice and nature to be Just, not a limitation as assumed by the critic.
