Cannibalism in Islam?
« on: December 04, 2016, 08:30:39 PM »
Assalamu alaykum.
I came across this claim that the Quran prohibits the consummation of the flesh of pigs, dead animals etcetera but not that of humans. Also, Ive noticed news on the net of some "scholars" actually ALLOWING cannibalism and saying that it's fine through fatwas. Is this true? I would love a refutation based on hadith and Quranic evidence.

Peace!

Wa Alaikum As'salam,

Allah Almighty talked about the TAYYIBAT food that He sent for us.  And He, the Almighty, detailed them in the Glorious Quran.  Cannibalism is not allowed.  Please visit:

www.answering-christianity.com/eating_healthy_in_quran.htm

Also, I DO NOT permit empty assertions of this type here.  I have banned people before for playing these games.  Please back up your stuff with links.  Otherwise, do not post nonsense here.  Muslim scholars do not permit cannibalism.  Do you see Muslims practicing this anywhere on this planet?

Thank you,
Osama Abdallah

Alaykum Salam once more.
I apologize for not providing a link before, as I thought it would not be a good choice to somehow "advertise" Shoebat's article.
http://shoebat.com/2013/01/28/islam-and-cannibalism/
So as he claims, a Saudi Arabian Mufti said it is permissible to "eat your wife", I do not in any way agree that this is what the Mufti said and I apologize for the fact that I looked like I was attacking scholars, which in no way I was doing.
I also understand that no Muslim in the world practices cannibalism, however the argument is still bothering me somehow, that's all. Once again, assalamu alaykum, peace be with you.

the shoebat article did not show any proof of cannibalism practised by Muslim.
Just quoting jurisprudence when no food is available. And interestingly, no situation of foodless situation had ever arise.
May.. happen in a great war in end of times.. perhaps.. one day.

~~~
Shall there exist a situation with no food.
Then it will depend on one's purpose of extending his/her life on earth. If one wish to extends his life to spread and guard the religion of God , then any meat/forbidden meat/dead meat on earth found can be consumed just to survive till one reaches place where lawful food is in abundance.
If he/she feels disgust at those forbidden food. then sufficient to rely on sustenance of God till eventually the last breath took one's life.
~~~
there are other hadiths about miracles/blessings of using fluid from body of prophet (saliva/sweat/blood/urine). The followers of prophet got attracted to those fluides due to its nice fragrance.
Hence  no relation to voodoo cannibalism as falsified by shoebat.
