Allah Almighty did call alcohol an abomination:
[005:090] O ye who believe! Intoxicants and gambling, (dedication of) stones, and (divination by) arrows, are an abomination,- of Satan's handwork: eschew such (abomination), that ye may prosper.
And we must abandon all abominations:
[074:005] The abomination - flee it!
So while a small amount of alcohol may not intoxicate, but it still remains an impurity and an abomination. And it must be left a lone. It is only permitted for medicine. Drugs and alcohol are among the things used for making medicine:
[002:219] They ask you about intoxicants and gambling: say, "In them there is a gross sin, and some benefits for the people. But their sinfulness far outweighs their benefit." They also ask you what to give to charity: say, "The excess." GOD thus clarifies the revelations for you, that you may reflect,
Intoxicants do provide medical and also emotional relief for the person. But they're also very addictive and very destructive to the body's organs and the brain. But their benefits are medical. The same for gambling. It provide emotional relief, but it is also addictive and destructive. So eschew them and flee as far away from them as possible, as Allah Almighty Commands. Otherwise, you'll find yourself tanked in ample addictions and destruction, as Allah Almighty Warns.
