Matthew 199. I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, and marries another woman a similar commits adultery.Notice "another woman" got crossed. This is because the word "woman" is not there in the Greek, and the word for "another" also means
similar.

www.answering-christianity.com/ntpoly.htm, you'll see that polygamy is clearly allowed in the OT and NT. It was also commanded in the OT in some cases. And Jesus never forbade it at all. He only
forbade unjust divorce. He is basically saying this:
If you divorce your wife, except if she cheats on you, and marry a SIMILAR, then you'll commit adultery.
Yes, this is because the new "wife" is still married to her husband just like your "former wife" is still married to you.
