Time for some Change?
« on: September 18, 2016, 10:51:54 AM »
How about giving a new theme for this forum a try?

The green versions for these particular themes seem nice enough:
http://custom.simplemachines.org/themes/index.php?lemma=2860
http://custom.simplemachines.org/themes/index.php?lemma=2834

Instructions for installing a new theme: http://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/How_do_I_install_a_theme

As someone who has personal experience with open source software, a backup will definitely have to be made before trying any thing new.

I was personally about to ask Osama if there's anything we could do to help change the design of the site. Make it more organized or Wikipedia style based to

A) Make it easier for the reader to clarify 1 topic theyre searching for

B) Seem more professional

C) Keep up with those anti islam sites

D) By no means do i intend on any disrespect Brother Osama but sometimes I'd look for 1 simple rebuttal and the page is bombarded with other articles (again no disrespect)

E)To stick with a simple black font as opposed to several colours as they make things very confusing and tacky (makes the site come off as unreliable eventho the data can be solid) OR just add Red font to highlight an extremely important text.

F) Have a tab drop down list such as Scientific errors rebuttals/Myths/Scientific Proof/Rebuttals

G) Again I mean no disrespect but Osama people are EXTREMELY Prejudice. The second they see Illuminati or 9/11 it's a huge red flag. They just lable this whole website "whacko conspiracy theorists" eventho it has solid information. (Maybe make a tab for those theories instead of it being the first thing people see?)

H) Individual tab dropdowns for rebuttals to known sites such as wiki islam/answering and rational wiki ?

I) This one might seem over the top but if there's any way some of the guys can have more access to add more rebuttals to increase the number of articles on this site?

I know i may come off as the last person to talk but the one thing I've noticed is that people are superficial. They dont believe sites like wikiislam or answering islam for their true data. They believe it because it looks professional.

Do we have to donate a sum of cash or can this be handled without as to i don't know much about this stuff.

EXACTLY! This site needs to be more organized and professional. Its just filled with scientific miracle and conspiracy theory tables. I some times don't even know if I reached the article or not.

The main reason being is that we're not quickly as prejudice as other people so we take the time to search for it. You know how others are in this day and age they want a quick and fast answer from a reliable looking source. Again Osama i mean 0% disrespect and I'm glad this website even exists otherwise I'd be stuck at the lowest point of my life.

If you want a website design like Wikipedia's, I personally have experience with the software and can set it up. A significant portion of the setup work for open source software like these depends on the website hosting service used. Unfortunately, the hosting service that is presently used here does not have very good reviews, so I cannot say for certain how long it will take to set it up. In any case I am willing to help.

The website can be set up so that only Osama Abdullah can make edits.
The main page can have all the different categories (9/11, rebuttals, miracles etc.)
All the articles here  can be transferred there, and it should also be much easier to make any new changes to the articles.

As'salamu Alaikum Everyone,

Thank you dear brothers for making the suggestions.  My thing about the design and the colors of the website is that I want it to come out and grab the reader as soon as he/she run into it.  Similar to the "Breaking News" announcements on news websites when a major event happens.  It looks off, but it does immediately grab the reader's attention.

If I could have the reader click on the few main links that appear to on the main page as soon as he reaches the site, then my mission is accomplished.  Because all of the links on the top of the main page are quite dangerous to the enemies of Islam.

So I don't really care much about neatness.  But I do care a lot about making the reader go to certain sections, especially the Scientific Miracles one.  If you right now click on the following link, you'll see what I mean.  The way it appears to you and the way it grabs your attention is quite good, walhamdulillah:

www.answering-christianity.com

I am sure all of you, my dear brothers, have gone through the website extensively and spent many many hours in it.  I get those emails regularly; that the person just spent the last 3 hours reading through my website.  So Alhamdulillah, it's an infidels' ass-kicking website!  I am confident that it will continue to attract more and more readers.  This is why if you go to www.alexa.com, you'll see my site's rank right up there with the baddest of the anti-Islam websites.  And my website (I say this very humbly) is the highest in rank among all of the Islam-defending websites.

So Alhamdulillah dear brothers, it works :). Now I just need to bulldoze my way in youtube.  That is my next big thing; the media world!  Insha'Allah.  www.HeTube.com VS www.YouTube.com.  Who will win??  LOOLLLL :)

Take care,
Osama Abdallah
