Thank you for this valuable verse.  It will help me in my upcoming 4 debates, Insha'Allah.  Now regarding the New Covenant, read Jeremiah 31:31 that you referenced in the context and light of Isaiah 42's New Covenent where the people of THE DESERT (wilderness is translated as DESERT in several translations) and the let the people of Kedar and Sela (Arabs) rejoice for this coming Servant and his New Covenent.  Isaiah 42 also says a New Song will be sang.  New Song in the Old Testament means New Revelations:

Notice also in Isaiah 42, the idols will be destroyed, and those who worship the idols will lose.  And GOD Almighty will cause battles that will crush those idols.  Only Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, did that!  Isa (Jesus), peace be upon him, never fought a single battle nor destroyed any idol, especially in Arabia (the lands of Kedar and Sela).
