Tip: Any verse that contradicts modern science or logic and reasoning is metaphorical.
1. this verse is not metaphorical, as the heavens [ie anything in space above earth, the heavenly bodies] are held from falling onto earth i[ ie colliding with trhe eath] by the centrifugal force.
2. meaning of the word heaven:
in the Quran, the word heaven is used in two senses: [a]. in the first sense, the extraterristerial space is referred to as the heaven and the heavenly bodies constitute the first heaven. Quan says, '' and he decorated the nearest haeaven with stars''. The nearest heaven refers to the first heaven, as there are 7 heavens. In the second semce , heaven refers to the layers of the atmosphere, which are also seven. allah says in the quran, 'he sends down rain from the heaven'. the layers of the atmosphere are also seven:
3. why did allah swt not use the term heavenly bodies directly?
the quran is not only meant for our time but for all times to come and all people in all the corners of the world and itr was also meant for the Arabs of that time. the term heaven, when it was used in the Quran 1400 years ago, was understood well by the Companions of the Prophet [pbuh], as per their knowledge, as at that time heaven ereferred to anything above the surface of earth. with time, when later scholars came, they understood it according to their own knowledge. similarly, in our time the universe is vastly unexplored and we have not even peeped otside the material universe. and hence we cannot prove the exixtence of the other heavens or we cannot disprove it. what can be said about it is only frrom the knowledge of the reveletion. in order not to confuse the earlier generations, the term samaa was used.

stable ground here does not mean a fixed earth but it refers to two things;
1. here the context demands that stable ground means a place of respite, without earthquakes.
2. it also hints at the point that when the earth was formed the crust became unstable. so allah swt produced the mountains to prevent the eath from shaking while rtating on its own axis. if a tennis ball is taken , it has a cloth coves and the rubber shell. the too are attached with an adhesive. liken the rubber core to the mantle and the cloth to the crust. if the adhesive is not predent, and if the ball spins , the cloth covering will slip arond the mantle. surely, it will not hold on to its place. similarly, had the mountains not been there, which anchor the crust to the mantle, during the rotation of eartgh the crust may have slipped over the mantle, thus not remaining stable. this is what is hinted in the above verse.
3. in anoither verse of the quran, allah says, 'and he has made the mountains as pegs, ...lest the earth should shake with it[ the earth]. this verse explains the above verse.
4. one of the criterion of understanding the quran is to understand a verse in context of what the other versesw of the quran say about it.

WE are not comparing human and animal brains but only human brains . greater the weight of the brain., greater ll be the thinking ability. No rejecting some Hadith does not equate to rejecting the Quran. That is nonsense.

1. Men are really in charge of women as the latter have lesser brain as is approved of by common sense and science. The brain of a woman is 100g lesser in weight than that of a man.
2. Stoppage of extramarital sex is also impossible to achieve in this 21st century. That does not make sex valid or legal.
3. 'Those' in the verse means your wives. What the prophet said about a verse is the real meaning. The quran says: "we have sent down the quran to you and made you responsible to explain it.' so, whatever the prophet explains to us regarding the quran is the actual meaning of the quran.
4. Those whom you fear transgression refers to those women( wives) who are inclined to adultery. It does not refer to other women or cases.
5. Beating is the last resort, and it should be light. (a) the prophet forbade that women or animals be beaten on the face. (b) someone reported to the prophet that some companions beat their wives. Thereupon he said: they are not the best among you. (c) the prophet once when his wife (aisha) annoyed him said that i ll beat you with this miswak(twig).
All these hadiths indicate that the beating refered to above is a light beating, almost equal to nought. This is there to make the wife realise her misdoing. And beating is not liked in Islam, but under unavoidable circumstances. What would you do if your wife does adultery or is about to commit it. How would you let her know that you are annoyed. These are the methods cited for humanking, the easiest methods.
6. A headless family cannot remain successful, just as headless nations dont prosper. And history is testimony that the best leaders are all men, due to their intellectual superiority and instinct. This does not mean women are nothing. They have their own rights over men. Men have 75 per cent obligations to mothers and only 25 to fathers in islam. You cannot do coitus interruptus without the consent of the woman. A girl cannot carried against her consent. These are womens rights in Islam.

He has a lot of work and how much can he do?? We people too have a lot of responsibility and we should with the coordination of this site also take up projects . That is a religious duty on us as well. I hope he will do the best. There are a lot of misconceptions about Islam in the west and the Eastern scholars, majority of them are unaware of science. Both aspects of the same coin are to be looked into and both of these voids are to be filled in.

1. There were some injunctions from Allah Almighty which were cancelled {mansukh} and they are not a part of the quran. It is not wise to say that these are not sound ahadith. You should thoroughly read the matter. The verses which the goat ate are also cancelled(see Muta MALIK). So the are not a part of the quran, just as the Hadith qudsi is the word of allah but not a part of the quran.

"Umar said that were it not that people will say that umar changed the quran , i would have inserted a verse on rajam in the quran so that people would not say that we do not find the verse of rajm in the quran. The prophet did rajm .'( muta malik). Umar is not saying that there was a verse in the quran actually, but it was in the tradition. Just as the quran is obligatory for us to follow , so is the sunnah. (a ) the prophet said "one among you is in the pride that nothing other than the things that are haram in the quran is haram? By Allah, whatever i say to you and whatever i permit and prohibit to you , that is also like the quran or more than it. "(al jehad fil isjam, p. 196). (b) allah says in the quran" take whatever the prophet gives you and refrain from whatever he withholds you from." (c) allah also says' obey Allah, obey the messenger of allah and those of in authority. Then he there is discord among you, turn the matter to allah and his messenger." (d) the Prophet says that gabriel brings not only the quran to me but also the sunnah(darimi)." (e) the prophet said " i have been given the quran and a thing similar to it( meaning the ahadith)(musnad ahmad 4/131). (f) at many places in the quran allah says that " we have bestowed the prophet with quran and hikmah" the tafsir or hikmah is hadith. (f) with respect to the verse 3:110, the prophet says "in it good refers to quran and hadith obedience. " ( ibn kathir ).
3. Regarding bewitchment: (a) the prophet said' one who is not worthy of tafsir ; if he does correct tafsir, still he has done wrong. ' (b) the prophet also said that " one who searches the meaning with his mind of the quran , he should find his place in the hell. " this does not mean mind is not to be used but it means that it is to be used after quran, ahadith, consensus of the companions and the successors have been refereed to understand the verse. Thereafter the mind is to be applied. This is also proved in another hadith where maz bin jabal was sent by the prophet to yemen and he said i will rule by the quran , the hadith and if i dont get answer from there i will use my mind. The prophet had affirmed this. (b) in the verses where prophet is alleged to be bewitched by the jews, the background is that when the prophet used to recite the quran to them, they used to reject it saying he is possessed or bewitched. Thereupon Allah falsified their claim that the prophet is not saying out of possession or bewitchment but it is a revelation sent down to him(quran). " he does not say any thing of his desire but it is an inspiration sent down to him (perhaps surah yusuf). Allah never refuted the truth of bewitchment but He refuted only the non-muslims claims that the prophet was saying the quran out of possession. In fact the truth of bewitchment is hinted at in the surah falaq (4:113). And in many ahadith . And we witness magic in our everyday life.

When a Hadiths chain of narrators is proved to be right, it becomes obligatory for one to believe in it.
Also I hail brother Osama for his work. And why does not he convert important sections into a book, as there are thousands of madrassa students, especiallly in central Asia, who do not use the Internet. Jazakallah umu khair.
