Peace
I read hadith that the the prphet allowed نبيذ Nabidh, which is normally translated into wine, he also alowed the peformance of abolution with it. Just go to sunnah.com and type in نبيذ or nabidh.
Can you guys clarify.
Peace

As'salamu Alaikum dear brother,

Do you have a reference for the Hadith?  But either way, it is a known fact that alcohol and also eating of swine (pigs) were allowed in Islam during the early days of Islam.  But as the Glorious Quran was revealed in a period of 23 years, Divine Laws were sent down gradually.  And Prohibitions were also sent down sometime after the early days of Islam.

So if the Hadith is true, then obviously this was before the prohibition of alcohol.  Please visit: www.answering-christianity.com/ac20.htm#links.

I hope this helps, insha'Allah.

Take care,
Osama Abdallah
