Title: Deobandi have declared women receptionists as 'un-islamic'
Post by: Tanveer on December 15, 2012, 05:09:18 AM
Yeah. I just find this extremely annoying. They also made it un-islamic for women to travel furhter than 48 miles without a male mahram. I can understand this one but deobandis in other countries will also probably follow it even though the countries they live in are safe. What are your opinions.

I'm not really a scholar . But I don't think it's forbidden . What should not happen is what we see of women dressing in seducing clothes . Really man ! Why do they have to put on such revealing clothes ? Anyway , I see female receptionists here - Saudi Arabia - but they dress properly and wear the veil .

I agree. One question though. Wouldnt just wearing the hijab suffice?

Just to tell you, it doesn't ANYWHERE say a women can't have aquantinces with men, every country (no matter how islamic) has women receptionists.
Also it doesn't say anywhere that a women can't travel for more than 48 miles, however it does say women can't travel BY THEMSELVES, to HAJJ, and more than three days, this was because travelling alone in a desert was dangerous, today we have security and safety, and im sure the longest airplane ride was less than three days.
However a women is allowed to to live by herself indefinitely.
