Title: Was Joseph really Mary's husband?

Assalamu alaikum brother Osama,

The NT and even the gospel of Barnabas (ch. 2) says that Mary took Joseph as her husband.

But we know that the Jews called her an aduteress. Even the Talmud says that.

If Joseph was really Mary's husband, they wouldn't make such a nasty claim. They would simply take Jesus as the son of Joseph.

he may have been husband of Mary thru marriage after birth of Jesus. Christians call James(Yacob) son of Joseph as brother of Jesus. Which means both have blood gene from Mary. age gap between James and Jesus can indicate when Joesph marries Mother of Jesus

I partially agree with this as I don't know if they where married later or not.If they where married,Maryam(R) would not have been mocked.And still now,christians call her virgin Marry.Do we call a married woman virgin?
