Why Christians reject the Gospel of Barnabas

 

A Christian would say that he rejects the Gospel of Barnabas because it is not written by Barnabas but by a Muslim who sneaked it into the Vatican library where it was found on the Popes’ desks, shelves etc. A very funny argument.

The reasons of the Christians to reject the Gospel are not valid and below are listed the real reasons why the Christians reject the Gospel of Barnabas.

 

1.     It states that God is One and not three / No divinity of Jesus

2.     It states that Prophet Muhammad (s) is the last Prophet of God

3.     It states that Prophet Muhammad (s) is the Messiah

4.     It does not talk about any original sin

5.     It states that the last Prophet will be an Ishmaelite

6.     It also denies the crucifixion

 

The Gospel of Barnabas is more reliable and authentic than any other Gospel. Let us see why!

 

 

 

 

1. God is One and not three

 

"Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord."

"Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord"
[The Bible, Deuteronomy 6:4]

 

"I, even I, am the Lord; and beside me there is no saviour."
[The Bible, Isaiah 43:11]

"I am Lord, and there is none else, there is no God besides me."

"I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me."

Here is what Jesus says, he denies being God:

 

"My Father is greater than I."

"I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgement is just; because I seek not my own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me."

"Jesus answered them and said, "My doctrine is not Mine, but His
who sent Me."

"He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word
which you hear is not Mine but the Father's who sent Me."

"For I have not spoken on My own authority; but the Father who
sent Me gave Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak."

[John 12:49]

 

"And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of
me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape.

Note: Father does not mean a literal father but here refers to God as the Bible says, “Blessed are the peacemakers for they will be called sons of God”.

 

Son of God is a figure of speech which many other Prophets were labeled with.

In Psalms 2:7 David is the begotten Son of God.

Jacob is God's firstborn son (Exodus 4:22)
Solomon is God's son (2 Samuel 7:13-14)
Ephraim is God's firstborn son (Jeremiah 31:9) [how many firstborns?]
Adam is the son of God (Luke 3:38)

There are many other begotten (?) sons mentioned in the Bible.

 

God is One and the Gospel of Barnabas states this fact.

 

 

 

 

 

2. Prophet Muhammad (s) is the last Prophet of God

 

John 14:16 "And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever"

John 15:26 "But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, [even] the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me"

John 16:7-14 "Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: Of sin, because they believe not on me; Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged. I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, [that] shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew [it] unto you."

3. Prophet Muhammad (s) is a Messiah

 

The Gospel of Barnabas calls Prophet Muhammad (s) at a Messiah. The Quran says that Jesus is the Messiah. This part seems to contradict with the Quran, one proof of it being a true book of Barnabas.

 

However, when we read the Jewish books, we see that there is no problem with this claim as other Prophets have also been called by this title in 1 Samuel 15:17, 1 Kings 1:39, 1 Samuel 16:13, Leviticus 4.

 

We see that this claim to reject the Gospel of Barnabas is not a valid excuse.

 

 

 

 

 

4. Original sin

 

The Gospel of Barnabas does not say anything about this false man made imaginary concept at all. This false concept is also nowhere to be found in the Christian Bibles.

 

(Deuteronomy 24:16)
“The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers: every man shall be put to death for his own sin.”

 

The Christian Bible does talk about the sin of Adam and the sufferings of mankind due to that but nowhere does it say that mankind is doomed to hell for that.

5.Ishmaelite Prophet

 

In Genesis 16:16 Abraham is 86 years old when Hagar has Ishmael. In Genesis 17:24 Abraham is 99 and this makes Ishmael to be 13. When Isaac was born, Abraham was 100 years old as mentioned in Genesis 21:5.

 

Hebrews 11:17

"By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son,"

 

How can this be? How can Isaac be the only begotten son of Abraham when Ishmael was 14 years older than him?

 

Genesis 16:3 states that Hagar was a legitimate wife of Abraham.

 

 

 

 

 

6.  Crucifixion

All of the above mentioned reasons of the Christians to reject the Gospel of Barnabas are invalid. If they call the Gospel of Barnabas to be false, then they should also call their own Gospels to be false as well because their own books confirm all the points made above. Although the Gospels, other than Barnabas, are very much corrupt, they do state the truth in their contradictions.
