The sun rays that we see during the day are different from the ones seen in space - mentioned in the Noble Quran and confirmed by Science!

1-  Allah Almighty's Divine Claims in Noble Verses 91:1-5:

1-  Noble Verses 91:1-5, 15:14-16, and 6:125:

With this said, let us now look at what Allah Almighty Said in the following sets of Noble Verses:

(a)-  The sun's radiant light VS the filtered and processed light:

‏91:2 والقمر اذا تلاها

"By the sun and its radiant light, and the moon that trails (and reflects) its light. By the day that reveals its brightness.  (The Noble Quran, 91:1-5)"

The sub-sections below and main section #2 below give detailed scientific proofs the demonstrate the Divine Miracle in this Noble Verse.  Allah Almighty also Said:

"Do they not consider that We have made the night that. they may rest therein, and the day to give light? Most surely there are signs in this for a people who believe.  (The Noble Quran, 27:86)"

"He it is Who made for you the night that you might rest in it, and the day giving light; most surely there are signs in it for a people who would hear.  (The Noble Quran, 10:67)"

"And We have made the night and the day two signs, then We have made the sign of the night to pass away and We have made the sign of the day manifest, so that you may seek grace from your Lord, and that you might know the numbering of years and the reckoning; and We have explained everything with distinctness.  (The Noble Quran, 17:12)"

Allah Almighty also talked about the moon's light being a reflected light from the sun's light: The Noble Quran states that the light of the moon is reflected light.

(b)-  The black space and the blindness of the eyes:

‏15:14 ولو فتحنا عليهم بابا من السماء فظلوا فيه يعرجون

‏15:16 ولقد جعلنا في السماء بروجا وزيناها للناظرين

If Allah Almighty were to allow them to safely ascend to outer space, then because of the sky getting darker and darker for them until it becomes completely black, they would say that their eyes had been blinded (covered up) and that they had been bewitched.

Now of course, Allah Almighty also did say that a person would suffocate if he were to ascend unprotected and unaided to space.  See the next sub-section.

(c)-  Low air pressure and lack of oxygen:

‏6:125 فمن يرد الله ان يهديه يشرح صدره للاسلام ومن يرد ان يضله يجعل صدره ضيقا حرجا كانما يصعد في السماء كذلك يجعل الله الرجس على الذين لايؤمنون

"Those whom God (in His plan) willeth to guide,- He openeth their breast to Islam; those whom He willeth to leave straying,- He maketh their chest close and constricted, as if they had to climb up to the skies: thus doth God (heap) the penalty on those who refuse to believe.  (The Noble Quran, 6:125)"

3-  Our atmosphere is different from space:

It is important to know that even during the day, when astronauts pass through our Ozone layer into space, they literally move from the light of our world into the absolute black-darkness of space.  This is a well-known fact.  Therefore, Allah Almighty was perfectly accurate when He, the Almighty, called our atmosphere a "day" and "night", as clearly demonstrated in the links below, because the light that we see inside our Ozone layer is completely different from outer space, and it visually doesn't even exist outside our Ozone layer as far as our naked eyes are concerned.  That is why Allah Almighty, in the Noble Quran, distinguished between our earth's "day" and the outside space' darkness.  That is why Allah Almighty Said in the Noble Quran that "He Created the day and the night and the sun and the moon", in many Noble Verses, and talked about "the day reveals the sun's radiant light to us".  In deed, the earth's "day" is unique to it and was created specifically for the earth, - precisely as Allah Almighty demonstrated in the Noble Quran!

And again, as we clearly and indisputably saw above, Allah Almighty made it crystal clear about the outer space being completely dark (they would think they were blinded and bewitched as stated in Noble Verses 15:14-16) and has low air pressure and no oxygen to breath.

2-  Why didn't Allah Almighty Say that it is the sun that reveals the day?

In his video-lecture, Dr. Zaghlool Al-Najjar raised a very important question that unveiled Allah Almighty's Divine Claim and Miracle in Noble Verses 91:1-5:

Why did Allah Almighty say that the day reveals the sun's lights?  To the ordinary, it is the sun that shines and reveals the light and the day, not the vise versa. 

Answer:  This would be an inaccurate scientific statement, because the sun rays that we see during the day, which are yellowish-white and bright, are not the same lights and color as in outer space.  Inside our ozone layer and near the outer space (right on the borders/ceiling of our Ozone layer), the sun rays are seen as, and not limited to, bluish color, - similar to the blue color of the stars during the night.  The following pictures are real ones that were taken by NASA.  I captured them from Dr. Zaghlool's film:

When one looks up during the day to sees the sun's rays, one sees a yellowish-white color of run-rays.  No one could imagine that the sun's real colors are different in outer-space!  Yet, Allah Almighty in the Noble Quran Said that it is the day that reveals the sun's rays, and not the vise versa (the sun reveals the day).

Furthermore, to the ordinary people 1,500 years ago, the sun used to "go to sleep" as it got darker and changed colors as it approached sunset, and then "wakes up" when it rises back again.  To the ordinary people, the sun has full control over the day and it was the sun that revealed the day and its colors, not the vise versa.

By the way and as I mentioned above, Allah Almighty never Said that the sun goes to sleep and/or extinguishes for any night.  Allah Almighty, rather, said that the sun is light and the moon's light is a reflected light of the sun, which means that the sun is always shining, even during the night, because its light reflects off of the moon, as mentioned in the Noble Quran.  Please visit: The Noble Quran states that the light of the moon is reflected light.

3-  So how do the colors of the sun-rays change?

As Dr. Zaghlool pointed out in his video, there is a famous and simple experiment that is done in basic science classes, which is if we bring the rainbow's 7 colors, and shine them on a rotating spherical object, then the colors to that object would eventually all appear as white if the object was rotating fast enough. 

Similarly, because our earth rotates around its own axle (the Noble Quran mentioned it [1] [2] [3] [4] [5]), and because the earth's rotation is going fast, - fast enough, - the sun's rays end up looking like yellowish-white for us and not blue or any other color, which makes Allah Almighty's Divine Claims in the Noble Quran 100% perfect when He Said that it is the day that reveals the sun rays for us, and not the sun that reveals the day for us.

The simple answer to this question is that the Sun is yellow. Go outside and see for yourself. (But don't hurt your eyes by looking for a long time.)

For our purpose of determining the temperature of the surface of the Sun, a more precise answer is that the intensity versus wavelength curve for sunlight peaks near 500 nm.

But the question "What color is the Sun?" raises an interesting issue that is more closely related to biology and psychology than to physics. Physically, sunlight is a mixture of photons of different wavelengths. This particular mixture is very close to the color we call white. This is particularly true if we put back the predominantly blue light that is scattered out of a sunbeam as it comes from the Sun and passes through the Earth's atmosphere before it reaches our eyes. Why do we call this color white? Blackbody The above is supposed to show, as accurately as possible on a computer screen, how the colour of a radiating blackbody varies with its temperature. The two vertical bars of colour at each end of the colour chart are the colours at zero and infinite temperature. Evidently the limiting colours are not much different from the colours at 1,000 K and 50,000 K. I confess a little disappointment at the high temperature result: I was hoping that the colour there would be more violet. The chromaticity diagram at right shows the blackbody trajectory as a black line labelled with temperature in Kelvin. This chromaticity diagram, constructed using a corrected version of John Walker's cietoppm utility, is the same as shown on the  Where's purple? page. The blackbody colours in the colour chart at top and in the diagram at right were computed by integrating the monochromatic tristimuli X, Y, Z from the CIE 2° tables over a Planck distribution. The resulting blackbody tristimuli were transformed to R, G, B, then gamma-corrected to R¢, G¢, B¢, as described on the  Where's purple? page. Blackbody colours at temperatures around 5000-7000 K are nearly white, and the choice of white point is important if one wants to render these colours accurately. On these pages I have adopted CIE D65 as white, but of course this may not accurately represent the white point R = G = B of your monitor. Introduced by CIE in 1963, the D series of standard illuminants are intended to represent `daylight' at various correlated colour temperatures, with D65 to be used whenever possible. Sun The Sun has an effective surface temperature of 5780 K. However, the Sun's spectrum is not a precise blackbody. The graph at right shows the spectrum of the Sun as seen from above the Earth's atmosphere, together with the spectrum of a blackbody at 5780 K with the same total flux as the Sun, and the spectrum of CIE D65 `daylight' normalized to the solar flux at 560 nm. The Sun's spectrum was taken from R. L. Kurucz, I. Furenlid, J. Brault & L. Testerman (1984) Solar Flux Atlas from 296 to 1300 nm. The spectrum in the Solar Flux Atlas has a resolution of l/Dl » 800,000. The spectrum plotted at right is heavily binned, into 5 nm bins. A table of the spectral energy distribution of CIE D65 is available at the UCSD Color and Vision database.     x y D65 0.3127 0.3290 Sun 0.3233 0.3326 5780 K 0.3264 0.3357 The table at left gives the chromaticities of the Sun and of a blackbody at 5780 K, along with the chromaticity of D65. The chromaticities were computed in the usual way by integrating the monochromatic tristimuli X, Y, Z from the CIE 2° tables over the corresponding spectrum. Each entry is correctly coloured relative to the D65 white point. The colour of the background of this page and accompanying pages on this site is the colour of the Sun relative to D65 white. As shown in the table, the Sun's colour is in fact rather similar to that of a 5780 K blackbody. It looks peach pinkish, not yellow, doesn't it? Strange. But I think it's a pretty colour. It has to be emphasized that white is a relative thing, at least to a certain extent. It is relative to the D65 white that the Sun is peachy pink. Item 16 of the Color FAQ states that for most people D65 has a little hint of blue. So maybe the Sun is really white?

4-  Conclusion:

Again, the Noble Quran is filled with scientific statements and notions.  These are statements of Allah Almighty describing how He created things on earth and in the Universe.  What's most amazing is that all of these scientific statements and notions had been proven to be in perfect agreement with science and our modern-day scientific discoveries.  Allah Almighty made the Noble Quran be Prophet Muhammad's (peace be upon him) Everlasting Divine Miracle and proof for Prophethood.  The Holy Book certainly stood the test of time 1,500 years ago with Its Claims, Prophecies and Miraculous language eloquence, and it does again and again in our day today with Its overwhelming agreement with science and discoveries that were not known to man 1,500 years ago.

Allah Almighty Said: "We will soon show them Our signs in the Universe and inside their selves, until it will become quite clear to them that it is the truth. Is it not sufficient as regards your Lord that He is a witness over all things?  (The Noble Quran, 41:53)"

In regards to the sun and its light, Allah Almighty precisely mentioned that the sun doesn't not reveal the day.  He clearly Said that it is the day that reveals the sun, which had been scientifically proven not too long ago.  Again, Allah Almighty Said:

Allah Almighty clearly and indisputably first mentioned the sun's brilliant light, and then said that it is the day that reveals this brilliant light, which means that the yellowish-white light that we see from the sun is only a processed light and isn't the same as the radiant light.  The sun's original light in Noble Verse 91:1 is different from the sun's processed light in Noble Verse 91:3.  Allah Almighty mentioned it, and science today has confirmed it.
